Rawalpindi: Security forces have killed 54 terrorists who were trying to enter the country via Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces selected the movement of a group of militants, who were trying to enter the Pak -Afghanistan border in the general area of North Waziristan district between 25, 26 and 27 April.
He said, “His troops effectively engaged and foiled their attempt to infiltrate. As a result of the exact and skilled engagement, all 54 Kharijites have been sent to hell.”
Fitta al -Khadar is a term that uses the banned Thharik Talban to refer to Pakistan (TTP) for the use of the state.
Security forces also recovered a large store of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the dead terrorists.
The ISPR said, “Intelligence reports show that this group of Khawaja was entering to carry out high -level terrorist activities, especially within Pakistan, at the behest of their ‘foreign masters’.
He added that such actions by terrorists, at a time when India is making baseless allegations against Pakistan, clearly means that they are working on whose signal. “Such actions are equivalent to treason and treachery against the state and its citizens.”
Referring to the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, the ISPR said that it has emphasized the fact that removing Pakistan’s security forces from its focus on the fight against terrorism shows India’s strategic intention that it allows terrorists to breathe their place.
“Security forces showed extraordinary professionalism, vigilance and preparation and stopped potential destruction,” he added.
The statement said it was the largest number of terrorists killed by security forces in the same engagement during the entire campaign against terrorism.
“Security forces are committed to defending the country’s fronts and ending the curse of terrorism,” he said.
The two countries have shared an unsafe border that extends about 2,500 km with several crossing points, which is important as an important element of regional trade and an important factor of relations between the people on both sides of the fence.
However, the issue of terrorism has become an important issue for Pakistan, which has called on Afghanistan to prevent its territory from invading the previous region by groups like TTP.
Islamabad’s reservations have also been confirmed by a report submitted by the UN Security Council (UNSC) by an analytical support and sanctions monitoring team, which later revealed a nexus between Kabul and TTP, with former provider logistics, operational and financial assistance.
Earlier this month, at least eight terrorists were neutralized as security forces successfully thwarted their bid to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan district.
According to data released by a think tank, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS), the country saw a sharp rise in terrorist attacks in January 2025, which increased by 42 % over the previous month.
Statistics have revealed that at least 74 militants were recorded nationwide, resulting in 91 deaths, including 35 security personnel, 20 civilians, and 36 militants. Another 117 people were injured, including 53 security forces personnel, 54 civilians, and 10 militants.
