India: International cricket agencies have expressed deep concern over the safety of their players who participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to increasing tensions between India and Pakistan.
The South African Cricketers Association (SACA) and Cricket Australia (CA) were among the first to issue official statements to deal with the situation. “The health and safety of the players cannot be discussed. We are in direct contact with all South African players in the IPL and keep them updated with security reports,” said Andrew Bretzke, chief executive of the South African cricketers Association.
In light of the growing regional tension, Cricket Australia issued a statement on Friday and resolved the situation. “We continue to closely monitor the situation in Pakistan and India, including the Australian Government, PCB, BCCI and local government officials, including regular advice and updates, and maintaining talks with our players and auxiliary staff in the region,” the CA said in a statement on Friday.
