Minsk: Pakistan and Belarus signed a series of agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MUS) on Friday (MUS), which aims to enhance cooperation in several areas, including defense, trade and environmental protection.
During Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s official visit to Belarus, these agreements were signed, after meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko and discussing regional and international issues along with various areas of cooperation, along with delegation -level talks between the two sides.
The two leaders witnessed the event when ministers from both sides exchanged documents already signed.
The governments of Pakistan and Belarus signed a reading agreement, as well as a cooperation agreement between the Interior Ministry of the two countries. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Belarus’s Minister of Internal Affairs exchanged documents.
The two countries also signed an agreement on the cooperation of the Ministry of Defense Ministry of the two countries, and the documents were exchanged by Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Belarus Defense Minister Vector Karin.
The two sides signed a military technical cooperation program (Roadmap) between the State Authority for the military industry of Belarus and the Ministry of Defense for 2025-2027. During this visit, bilateral agreements were also signed for environmental protection, postal services, business support, trade development and cooperation between commercial institutions.
‘150,000 skilled Pakistani workers’
In a joint press stackout, Prime Minister Shahbaz said that Belarus has extended the “free offer” to invite more than 150,000 young, highly skilled Pakistani workers to participate in Belarus’s country -making efforts.
Calling it a “gift” for the people of Pakistan, the Prime Minister thanked the Prime Minister on the occasion, highlighting that the move would not only benefit Belarus’s economy but also provide meaningful lives to Pakistani youth.
“I assure you that the skilled Pakistani manpower, which is certified through international standards and national approval, will serve as a valuable asset for Belarus,” Premier said while speaking to Belarus President Lukashenko.
Recalling Pakistan’s Alexander Lukashenko’s visit in 2015-16, the Prime Minister said that the visit has laid the foundation for a long journey of friendship and cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister expressed the government’s interest in taking advantage of Belarus’s experience in various areas, especially agriculture.
“Pakistan is an agricultural country and 65 % of the population lives in rural areas,” he said. We need your skills to increase our acres of production by utilizing the modern method in this sector, “he said, adding that there is a joint venture between Pakistan and Belarus companies. “Both Pakistan and Belarus companies will have a situation of winning in this regard.”
Prime Minister Shahbaz also highlighted Belarus’s expertise in manufacturing mining sector, saying that mineral reserves in Pakistan have trillions of dollars and both countries can become major partners in this sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Belarus President Lukashenko emphasized the importance of promoting strong relations with Pakistan.
He said that Belarus has given great importance to its relations with Pakistan and are looking forward to deepening cooperation on many fronts.
Welcoming the Pakistani premiere, President Lukashenko highlighted the possibility of enhancing bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors, including trade, industry, agriculture and technology.
He expressed confidence that high -level engagement would pave the way for long -term strategic partnerships and mutual growth.
The President noted that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit will work as a catalyst to open new avenues of cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the need to find unused areas of the partnership and promote existing friendly relations.
