LAHORE: A wave of excitement is increasing in the country as the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been roaring with a grand opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Night has promised a combination of music, fireworks and cricketing enthusiasm as PSL has begun its historic season in a style. This is the first time that the Rawalpindi League will host the first game.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the inaugural ceremony will include several exciting performances, including the renowned Sufi music artist Abida Parveen, a cultural act of Ali Zafar, and the modern performance of the young stoners.
In addition, the HBL PSL X song singer – Abrarul Haq, Ali Zafar, Natasha Baig, and Tala Anjum will also perform.
After the ceremony, defending champions Islamabad will compete against Lahore Qalandar, a two -time winner of the trophy in the opening match of the United Tournament.
The 34 -match tournament includes three double headers scheduled on April 12, May 1 and May 10, while the remaining fixtures will be in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.
Six teams will close the harms for the winners to receive a reward of 500,000, while runners up will be awarded 000 200,000. The PSLX Draft, which took place on January 13, gave six franchises an opportunity to renew its troops before the historic tenth edition.

Mohammed Rizwan, who guided the Multan Sultans in the 2021 edition in Abu Dhabi, will continue his rule as captain of the Sultans, who did this 48 times in the last four HBLPSL edition. Quetta’s Saud Shakeel rally will take over as Gladiators’ duties from Russo.
Shadab Khan, who has guided Islamabad United in 55 HBLPSL matches so far, has also been assigned leadership duties for HBLPSLX, while only captain, who has won the HBLPSL title, will be in charge of Shahin Shah Afridi.
In HBLPSL 2024, Islamabad emerged as the winner, he was honored for the third time, while Multan Sultan ended as a runner -up for the third consecutive time.
‘Fool -proof security’
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police have made foolproof security arrangements for PSL 2025.

He added that regional police officer Babar Sarfraz Alpa and City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, along with other senior officers, were in the field to monitor the arrangements.
Special police teams, including the Dolphin Force and the Elite Force personnel, were deployed around the stadium and around it, the spokesman said.
He added that a special control room stadium and its surroundings and the entire city were arranged for monitoring through Safe City and other CCTV cameras.
He said that specialist spinners were deployed on the roofs and teams around the stadium.
The spokesman added that visitors are allowed to enter the stadium through walkthrough gate and physical search.
