PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death sentence (Amendment) Act 2025”, which provided consistency in decisions/ decisions regarding punishment and implementation.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur presided over the 28th meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, an official handout said.
Cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Administrative Secretaries and Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the meeting.
These amendments are especially related to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Penalty Act, section 17, 18 and 20 of 2021.
These provisions needed amendments to punish the same crime where the discretion was allowed.
The bill clarified the status of the employees of the council, which has not yet been appreciated.
The Cabinet approved Rs 567.70 million under the hybrid security model and enabled the purchase of various goods of the police to seize full security management within 15 days within 15 days.
It is noteworthy that the Apex Committee has decided to introduce a Hybrid Security Model (HSM) for 6 districts, namely Bonner, Swat, Upper Chitral, Mohammad, Khyber and Lakki Marwat.
