WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a “full and comprehensive” trade agreement with the United Kingdom, which would be the first such agreement since he launched his global prices.
Trump did not provide any details about the scope of the deal, but said that more would come after more when he targeted business partners with a broom on his ‘Liberation Day’ on April 2. But in another safe tone from London it has been suggested that the deal may not be a contender for Trump, who has been proud of the weeks that countries stand to bargain with Washington.
The 78 -year -old Republican described it as a “huge and exciting day” and had to talk more about the contract at a news conference in the White House scheduled for 10am (1400 GMT).
The President posted on his truth social platform, “The agreement with the UK is a complete and comprehensive, which will strengthen the relations between the United States and the United Kingdom in the coming years.”
“With our long -term history and allegiance, it is a great honor to keep the UK as our first declaration. Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiations, follow!”
“This is an important step towards fair and bilateral trade with our partners around the world,” said Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio.
‘National interest’
The agreement has launched a charming attack by British Prime Minister Kerr Star Starmer, who arrived in the White House in February – in which King Charles III was equipped with the invitation of King Charles III for another historic visit to Trump.
According to reports, the deal will eliminate Trump’s 25 % of Trump’s revenue on British steel and cars, but its baseline will remain 10 % tariff. In return, the UK can provide relief from the UK’s digital services tax paid by US -tech giants.
Sky News reports that London has agreed on Washington on food and agriculture imports. The star said he would later talk about the trade agreement with the United States on Thursday, the UK’s largest country’s trade partner – the United States.
The Prime Minister told a London Conference on Defense, “Talks with the United States are underway and you will listen to me more later.” “But don’t make a mistake, I will always work in my national interest.”
A UK official has described the agreement as a “general terms document” that will have agreements, but a framework will also be presented where further discussion is needed.
The official said on condition of anonymity that the agreement was focused on specific sectors rather than a complete free trade agreement sought by the European Union after the 2020 departure.
In addition to dealing with steel and car prices, it will offer positions to discuss future potential taxes in the main pharmaceutical sector.
Sources added, “There will be more talks.
Brexit UK
This week, after the UK invaded a free trade agreement with India, the US agreement would be a new win for the Storm, which is the biggest agreement after leaving the European Union.
Trump described the British leader, who won power like the US president last year, as a tough negotiator after a Washington visit in February, slapped 10 percent of the prices on imports from around the world in April, including the UK, but he was allowed to negotiate.
The film industry – which is an important UK export for the services sector – is also in the eyes of Trump. London, however, has not yet retaliated against Trump’s prices.
It has been a priority for the UK to reach the Brexit Agreement for the UK. London wanted to get any contract with Washington ahead of a European Union summit on May 19. If relations with the block of 27 countries were resolved.
