The United Nations has called on Pakistan and India to use “maximum restrictions” while increasing diplomatic tensions between neighbors equipped with nuclear weapons after a deadly incident in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Relations have come to the lower levels over the years, India has accused Pakistan of supporting “cross -border terrorism” after the worst attack on civilians in the Muslim -majority IIOJK, who fought for a quarter of a century.
“We appeal a lot from both governments […] “UN spokesman Stephen Doojkar told reporters in New York on Thursday to use maximum patience, and to ensure that we have not worsened the situation and progress.
“In our view, any problem between Pakistan and India can be resolved peacefully through a meaningful mutual engagement.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday vowed to hunt gunmen responsible for killing 26 people at the famous tourist destination of Pahalgam.
In his first speech after Tuesday’s attack in the Himalayan region, Modi said, “I say to the whole world: India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their supporters.”
“We will pursue them by the end of the earth.”
Refusing to join any involvement, Islamabad termed efforts to link Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack as “irresponsible” and vowed to respond to any Indian action.
After chairing a high -level National Security Committee meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s top military chiefs, “Pakistan’s sovereignty and security of its people will face strong mutual measures in all domains at any danger.”
Since its independence in 1947, Kashmir has been divided between India and Pakistan. India has not yet fulfilled its promise to hold UN proportional letters.
Rebel groups have demanded insurgency in IIOJK since 1989, and demanded independence. On Thursday, both the Indian Air Force and the Navy conducted military exercises.
Indian police offered Rs 2 lakh (23,500) grace for information that caused the arrest of each person.
One day after the attack, New Delhi suspended the water partnership agreement, crossing the central land border with Pakistan, lowering diplomatic relations, and withdrawing visas for Pakistanis.
In response, Islamabad ordered the deportation of Indian diplomats and military advisers, except the Sikh pilgrims, canceled a visa for Indian nationals, and stopped crossing the main border.
Pakistan also warned that any effort by India to prevent water supply from the Indus River would be a “war process”.
‘Reduce it to dust’
Pahalgam has identified dramatic changes in recent Kashmiri rebel attacks, which usually target Indian security forces.
Experts say the military reaction can still be in the pipeline, some speculations say that it can only come in days, while the other weeks says.
In 2019, a suicide attack resulted in the killing of 41 Indian soldiers in IIOJK and Indian airstrikes inside Pakistan were mobilized, causing countries to reach the brink of all -out war.
After holding a two -minute silence in memory of those killed on Thursday, Modi said, “Whatever small land for these terrorists, it is time to take two minutes of silence in memory of those killed.
Tuesday’s attack took place when tourists enjoyed a passionate mountain sight at Pahalgam’s famous site, when gunmen exploded from the forests and provoked the mob with automatic weapons.
Indian security forces have launched a vast force for the attackers, in which a large number of people have been detained.
The attack has angered Hindu nationalist groups, and Kashmir students in institutions across India have reported harassment and threats.
