US President Donald Trump told Moscow on Friday to “move” with Ukraine at the end of his “unconscious war”, before his envoy Steve Watkov began talks with Vladimir Putin in Russia over the conflict.
Trump has been pressing Moscow and Kiev to agree with the ceasefire since returning to the White House, but has failed to get any major privileges from the Kremlin despite repeated talks between Russian and US officials.
The US leader told NBC News last month that he was “angry” with his Russian counterpart, while US diplomat Marco Rubio warned last week that Washington would not tolerate “endless talks” with Russia over the dispute.
Trump wrote on his true social platform, “Russia has to move,” he added that the conflict – which began more than three years ago when Moscow sent troops to Ukraine – was “unconscious” and “should never have been”.
Kiev and several of his Western allies suspect Russia that they are stopping dialogue.
And after Moscow was accused of dragging Beijing into his attack, Ukrainian leader Wolodmeer Zelannsky on Friday that hundreds of Chinese citizens are fighting Russia in the Ukraine Frontline.
Immediately after Trump’s position, the Kremlin said the talks between Putin and Vaticov had begun. The meeting in St. Petersburg, Putin’s hometown of Putin, will highlight “various aspects of Ukrainian settlement,” said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin.
The Russian state media quoted Peskov as saying, “There is no need to expect any progress here, the process of normalizing relations is in progress.”
When asked if the two would discuss a possible meeting between Putin and Trump, Peskov was quoted as saying: “may be”.
After Trump’s return in January, Victorf held two previous meetings with Putin in Russia.
After his last meeting, Trump’s ally Watticov for a long time, who worked with the US president in real estate, said Putin was a “great leader” and “not a bad man”.
Trump has highlighted the dramatic turning point in Washington’s point of view about matters with the Kremlin since taking power for the second term.
‘Use of Chinese lives’
Kiev said this week that his forces had arrested two Chinese nationals fighting for Moscow in the East Donetsk region.
The Kremlin denied the claim, while Beijing warned the parties for the controversy against the “irresponsible remarks” of the parties.
“So far, we have information that at least several hundred Chinese citizens are fighting as part of Russian occupation forces,” Zlinski told military chiefs of Brussels allies.
“This means that Russia is clearly trying to prolong the war – even using Chinese lives.”
The Ukrainian leader also called on Russia that he refused a full ceasefire proposed by the United States with Ukrainian approval a month ago.
Putin rejected a full and unconditional pause in the conflict last month, while the Kremlin has overcome some of the sanctions of the Black Sea in the West.
‘Restore trust’
Trump has called for a widespread reaction with Moscow, which has yielded some consequences.
On Thursday, Russia released dual -American Russian ballet dancer Casia Carilana from prison for a suspicious tech smuggler Arthur Petrov, a second exchange between Moscow and Washington in less than two months.
Kareena, who was arrested during a visit to Russia last January, was sentenced to 12 years on charges of “treason” when she donated about $ 50 to $ 50 to the Ukrainian supporter.
Russia will discuss the conversion of more prisoners in the future, Sergey Nareshkin said on Friday, Sergey Nareshkin, head of Moscow’s foreign intelligence service.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the conversion helped to build trust between the two sides, which was damaged under the former US President Joe Biden administration.
He told reporters, “This helps to build confidence, which is needed a lot, but eventually it will take a long time to restore it.”
On Thursday, the US and Russian delegation met to discuss the restoration of the work of their embassies in Istanbul, which rapidly scaled the staff after the relations between the two nuclear powers cooled.
But despite the flare of diplomacy, Trump’s main purpose of achieving the Ukraine ceasefire has made little meaningful progress.
As a result of a separate talks in Saudi Arabia last month, the White House said the two sides agreed to stop airstrikes on energy targets.
But no formal agreement was signed and both sides have accused the other of such attacks.
