Bangalore: Virat Kohli suffered a “most severe frustration” during a recent tour of Australia, which had just felt in the summer of 2014, after he went through a worst tour of England without a half -century in 10 innings.
As he was in England all these years ago, the Kohli was disappointed with his weakness outside the off stump during the Border-Goscar Trophy. After starting the series with an unbeaten 100 in India’s win in Perth, the end of his eight other visits for the crease was ended by the wicketkeeper or the wicketkeeper. Overall, he scored only 190 runs in nine innings.
“If you ask me how disappointed I am, the recent visit to Australia will be the most recent. Croatia reported,” Kohli said in a Bangalore program, it could feel the most intense for me.
“For a long time, a visit to England in 2014 made me the most bothered. But I can’t look like that. I may not be the Australian tour again in four years. I don’t know You have to reconcile with what happened in your life. In 2014, I still had the opportunity to go to 2018 and do what I did. It may not be so. This can be another mistake. But it did not come out like this.
“So, there is no such guarantee in life. I think when you are at a stage for a long time, when you perform, people get used to your performances. They seem to feel more for you than ever to feel for you. It has to be corrected.
Kohli revealed that he had moments in Australia, where the score lack made him more and more bothered to correct things with each ticking innings. However, he understood the importance of getting soaked in despair, before deciding on a hurry.
Kohli said, “Once you start eliminating energy and frustration from the outside, you start to burden yourself.” “And then you start thinking about things, like ‘I have two or three days left on this tour, I need to have an impact now.’ And you are more disappointed.
“Because I got a good score in the first test. I thought, okay, ‘let’s go.’ There is another big series for me. It did not come out like this. To me, it’s just about acceptance, ‘Okay, that’s what happened. I’m going to be honest with myself. Where do I want to go? How is my energy level? ‘
“I’m not sitting here in 48 hours or 72 hours like ‘let me go’ like to decide. Spend time with the family. Just sit. Let everything be calm. And see how I feel in a few days. And within five to six days, I was passionate about going to the gym.
In saying everything about overcoming frustration and facing challenges, Kohli also described “happiness, enjoyment and love for game”. But a recent conversation with former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid helped bring about “when the right time”.
“I’m not playing a game,” he said. “It just comes from the game to pure happiness and enjoyment and love. And as long as that love remains, I will continue to play the game. I have to be honest about it with me. The competitive series doesn’t allow you to find the answer.
“Recently, I had a very interesting conversation with Rahul Dravid when he was our coach. He said that you always have to keep in touch with yourself. Find out where you have been kept in your life. And the answer is not so easy, because you will probably be going through a lean phase and you feel like ‘. But that cannot be done.
“But then when the time came, he said that my competitive series would not allow me to accept it. Maybe another. Maybe six more months, anything. So, I think it’s a good balance. And you just have to pray and hope that when it comes, you will make it clear. At this point of my life, I am very happy. I still like to play the game. Don’t panic, I’m not making any announcements yet, so far, everything is fine. “
