ISLAMABAD: With the aim of further strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, Pakistan and Turkey signed several memorandums, protocols, and cooperation agreements in several fields on Thursday.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif witnessed the signing of the agreements.
Addressing a joint press conference after signing the agreements, Prime Minister Shahbaz warmly welcomed Turkish President Erdo ۔an, who is on a two -day visit here.
He expressed the hope that the visit would be very beneficial. The Prime Minister highlighted the long -standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, emphasizing that relations between the two countries have been during the centuries.
The devastation praised President Erdogan for winning the hearts of Pakistani people with the help of Turkey during the devastating floods. He reminded how the Turkish president personally visited the flood -hit areas during the crisis of Pakistan and provided generous support.
The Prime Minister noted that the sustainable partnership between the two countries is becoming stronger, in which bilateral relations reach new heights.
Talking on international issues, Prime Minister Shahbaz acknowledged Turkey’s permanent support for Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue. He assured that Pakistan, in return, would continue to support the Turkish stance on Cyprus.
In addition, he highlighted the ongoing efforts of Pakistan’s security forces in combating terrorism and raised concerns about the terrorists using Afghan soil for their activities.
On his behalf, Turkish President Erdogan expressed happiness over going to Pakistan. He cited Pakistan as another house and described the leader of Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal as the hero of both countries.
He said that the two countries have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and have announced agreements on 24 MUS.
President Erdogan said he has discussed trade issues with President Asif Ali Zardari and that Turkey is encouraging his investors to actively find opportunities in Pakistan.
He revealed that the two countries discussed $ 5 billion in trade volume and cooperation in the fields of defense and defense production.
The Turkish President also acknowledged Prime Minister Shahjaz’s visit to Prime Minister Shahj’s earthquake, which further strengthened relations between the two countries.
He praised Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and condoled the families of the martyrs in terrorist incidents.
He confirmed Pakistan’s full support in his war on terror and promised continuous efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Erdogan also highlighted the role of Turkey’s Marif Foundation schools in Pakistan’s education sector and reiterated his country’s support for Pakistan’s efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s support for the Cyprus issue, considered it very important for Turkish.

In the field of science and technology, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Turkish Minister of Commerce Amir Bollat, signed by the Minister of Science and Technology, for cooperation in halal trade.
Dr. Siddiqui and Turkish Minister of Industries and Technology Caucher also exchanged copies of MoU on the establishment of legal metrology infrastructure.
In addition, in the National Food Security and Research Sector, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement on the seed protocol to amend the agreement.
Documents were exchanged between Minister of National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forest Ibrahim Yumakli.
Similarly, in the energy sector, the two sides signed a protocol to amend the cooperation agreement in the field of hydro -carbon. The two ministers also exchanged two MUS documents on energy transfer and cooperation in the field of mining sector.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar and Communications Director Farten Altoon exchanged MUS signed documents and cooperation in the media and communications sector on cooperation in the field of public relations and communication.
