The committee was also informed about the irregularities made during the appointment process for the PSQCA chief.
It was reported that the recruitment process included 50 candidates, of which 42 were interviewed on the basis of qualification standards. The Secretary, M/O Science and Technology has reported that the Minister of Science and Technology has suggested interviewing all the applicant candidates, and the minister personally chaired the interviews. The last panel of three candidates was presented to the Prime Minister for a decision. The process has been completed in the ministry, and the decision is now with the Prime Minister.

The committee discussed the delay in the issuance of information for the nominations of Senators Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, Dost Muhammad Khan, Mir Dostin Khan Domki, and Mohammad Aslam Abru, which was created by the Chairman of the Senate under the ministry. These nominations were endorsed by the committee at the previous meetings.
It has been reported that the process is underway and it has been sent to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and information will be pursued this week. The Chairman Committee emphasized that the matter should not be delayed further.
The committee was also briefed on the role, functions and performance of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
It was also reported that PEC is also facilitating international agreements, such as Kuwait and China, to provide jobs to Pakistani engineers abroad.
