In a major development, three regional countries – Pakistan, China and Afghanistan – on Wednesday pledged to strengthen joint efforts against the threat of terrorism.
The commitment was held during the sixth trilateral foreign ministers between Pakistan’s FM Ishaq Dar, its Afghan counterpart Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaki and China’s Wang Yi in Kabul.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan said the trilateral dialogue focuses on political, economic and security cooperation between countries.
The spokesman said that the three sides confirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in the expansion of CPEC in Afghanistan, with counter -trade, transit, regional development, health, culture, and drug trafficking.
Kabul urges TTP, BLA to take solid, verifying steps
Earlier, DPM Dar urged the Taliban government in Kabul to take concrete and verbal measures against terrorist institutions such as prohibited Tahrik Talban Pakistan (TTP), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and Majid Brigade.
The demand came during a meeting between DPM Dar and Afghanistan’s acting FM Muttaki at the 6th trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers in Kabul.
Following the call, the United States has followed the recent post of BLA and its militant group Majid Brigade as a foreign terrorist organizations (FTO).
In a statement, the FO spokesman said that the DPM highlighted the recent increase in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, which was carried out by groups working from Afghan soil.
Pakistan has witnessed the increase in cross -border terrorist incidents since 2021, especially in the provinces related to the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
According to a monthly security report released by the Pakistan Institute for the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS), Islamabad -based think tank in Islamabad, the country saw a slight increase in terrorist attacks in July after a short decline last month.
According to the pictures, the country reported the attacks of 82 militants across the country during July, resulting in 101 deaths and 150 injured. Those killed in militant attacks included 47 civilians, 36 security personnel, and 18 militants.
The FO spokesman said: “The two ministers expressed their satisfaction at the positive pace of bilateral relations between their countries.”
The spokesman added, “He agreed during a trilateral meeting in Beijing on May 21, 2025,” he welcomed the recent height of diplomatic representation between the two countries, as was agreed during a tripartite meeting in Beijing on May 21, 2025. “
Considering his recent engagements, including the visits of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, on April 19, 2025 and July 17, 2025, on May 21, 2025, and the meeting of the Beijing on May 21, 2025, the ministers noted with the definition that most of the decisions were implemented or nearing completion.
These efforts have strengthened the relations of Pakistan-Afghanistan, especially in the fields of trade and transit.
During the meeting, DPM Dar acknowledged the encouraging progress in political and trade relations, while expressing its progress in the security domain, especially in counter -terrorism.
The Afghan Foreign Minister confirmed his commitment to ensure Afghanistan’s territory, which is not used by any terrorist group against Pakistan or other countries.
The DPM thanked the Afghan authorities for his warm hospitality and congratulated him for his success of the 6th trilateral dialogue.
