PESHAWAR: Pukhtoon Peace Jerga, made by the Omi National Party (ANP), called for practical steps to restore sustainable peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, protect its people and provide proper rights in the constitution.
A day-long jirga was held in Peshawar’s Bakhsh Khan Marcaz, in which representatives of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Fazal, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Jamaat-e-Islami, National Democratic Movement, Mazdur Qaisen Party, Pushtan Movement, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun, Pashtun.
Participants inputs their input on the restoration of peace and tranquility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially the integrated tribal districts.
At the end of the jirga, a joint communication was issued with the consensus of the participants.
ANP Provincial President Mian Afti Khar Hussain presented a 28 -point statement to the media.
Jerga declared Maulana Khan Zeb as a national hero and martyr of the entire Pakhtun nation, who was recently killed by unknown gunmen in Bajur.
He called for the establishment of a judicial commission to identify the killers behind the death of Maulana Khan Zeb.
A committee consisting of politicians and tribal elders should be formed to negotiate with the military establishment for sustainable peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal districts.
Participants also indicated to set up a protest camp in Rawalpindi/Islamabad if serious measures were not taken against the prevailing security in the merged districts and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Joint Communications also called for the 18th Amendment, its protection and the full implementation of the preliminary announcement of the new National Finance Commission Award, in which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be given a proper share of resources, including the integrated districts.
The JIRGA also opposed militancy, terrorism and violence in every way and said that the state must take practical steps against all militant organizations. It has said that the militants were no good or bad and immediately. It should be removed.
The state must refrain from a policy that will protect and promote violence and militancy, and the National Action Plan should be implemented in its true spirit.
The JIRGA demanded the abolition of ‘action to help civil power’, when forcibly declared the disappearance and created all the missing persons before the courts, while the police force should be given full force to maintain law and order in the province.
The JIRGA opposed the proxy war on the Pakhtun soil and the affected people should be compensated for the losses during military operations in the past, while the reconstruction and rehabilitation process in the affected areas of the province should continue.
JIRGA members asked the government to remain neutral in any international war sports on their territory and have good and cordial relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, Iran and India.
The joint communication called for opening of all trade routes with Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that full strength should be given to continue trade with Afghanistan through legal routes.
The JIRGA recommended that all administrative and development work be given to civil administration and elected representatives in the former tribal areas where more and more locals should be recruited in the police force, now Frontier Constabulary has been named Federal Constabulary and other forces.
JIRGA asked to improve literacy, especially women’s education, restoration of 3G and 4G mobile phones and Internet services and construction of professional colleges and universities in integrated districts.
Geraga called for eliminating unnecessary checkpoints in tribal districts and computerization of ground records in tribal agencies. JIRGA demanded scholarships, special quota and privileges for tribal students in higher education and professional colleges in the country.
