On July 20, 2025, a new chapter was written in the history of Pakistan’s sports history at the Nakhon Petham center in Thailand. The National U -16 Men’s volleyball team dropped out of the unimaginable, which defeated the Power House Iran in the Nervous Shadding Five Set final and claimed their first Asian U -16 Volleyball Ball Championship title.
It was a return to the age: From two seats to the victory of Electric 3-2, the young Gladiators of Pakistan showed flexibility, belief and unprecedented unity. This victory was not just about winning gold. It was about re -writing, breaking the roofs, and reminding a cricket -affected nation that Pakistan does not know the limits of sports.
Nevertheless, even when the flower petals rained on the heroes and the heroes returning to Lahore, a truth resonates louder than the drums of celebration, this victory should not be a fast moment of happiness. It should be the basis of something big: the formation of a professional ball league in Pakistan
Let’s not reduce what these boys have done. Iran has no push in the Asian volleyball. They are benchmarks. Winning against them is equivalent to defeating Brazil in Germany, Germany or Australia in cricket in hockey. The Pakistani team, headed by MVP Faizanullah, the power of Junaid and Wahab, and the capabilities of coach Kafiteullah’s strategy showed more maturity than their years.
With their return, 22-25 and 21-25, it eventually showed 30-28, 25-21, 15-10, nerves and belief that we are rarely associated with the Pakistan Games under pressure. He did not win just one match. He won Pakistan in the 2026 FIVB U -17 World Championship and provoked a nation of hope nationwide.
Pakistan Sports Board rightly announced a cash prize of Rs 8.2 million. Social media broke out in joy. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi posted a heartfelt message. Bannu celebrated with a drum. Yet after the celebration of the celebration, the truth remains: Pakistan has no structure, no league and barely enough resources.
This is not the first time that Pakistani volleyball has touched Amma. But history has shown that without investment and continuity, the moments of magic become vague. The PVF (Pakistan Volleyball Federation) has done very little work with it, but it is not enough. The time for symbolic help is over. The time for structural change is now.
Why Pakistan is in dire need of the volleyball league supporter
A professional volleyball league is not just luxury, it’s a need. Look at Iran. Look at Japan. See how the leagues in Turkey, Brazil and Italy have transformed raw youths into world -class players.
League Offer: Permanent match experience for young players. Financial security that encourages skills from small cities like Bannu, Peshawar, or Sialkot. Scouting routes for international agreements. Media attention and sponsorship, important to maintain popularity. And most importantly, a volleyball culture that is not only occasionally success but on institutional power. Pakistan has the potential. He has fans. Even in some parts of Punjab and KP, there is infrastructure. Now what is needed is vision, and bold action.
Should enter the public and private sector
The state has to make volleyball tire 1 game. PSL changed the destiny of Pakistan cricket. Volleyball is no different. What we need is a Pakistani ball Super League (PVSL), even if it starts with small, four to six franchises, city -based, youth quotes and international players.
Let the ministry sit on the same table with private sponsors for international harmony, PVF, and PSB. Bring retired legends as coach. Include the Armed Forces, who already play a major role in Pakistan’s volleyball setup. Use schools and colleges as feeder circuits.
Start now, and when the U -16 team graduates, they will have a world -class league to play. Without it, we take the risk of wasting this golden breed.
From Banu to the world
The story of this team is also the story of unused Pakistan. Bannu is welcoming a home like war heroes. It is a reminder that sports are not just sports, they are pride, unity and even peace engines. These boys did not just bring the trophy home. They brought a message: Invest us, believe us, and we will conquer the world.
Let’s not wait for another golden generation to rise and fall in silence. Let’s give Pakistani volleyball the spotlight, structure and stage that deserves it. Because when talent meets opportunities, history becomes.
