PESHAWAR: Opposition parties rejected the invitation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur on Thursday (Thursday) for the All -Party Conference (APC).
CM Gandpur has demanded the APC in the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar yesterday to discuss the recent increase in terrorist activities.
“Those who do not participate in the APC will reveal that they have no concern for the people,” Gandpur told reporters in Peshawar on Wednesday that the opposition parties rejected their offer.
The development came just a few days after the provincial government and opposition parties agreed to the distribution of the Senate seat – which showed an extraordinary example where they were on the same page and even followed it.
In its statements, the Owali Party (ANP), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the Jamiat Ulema-e-Fazal (Joy F), the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (Muslim League N) rejected the offer, one of them termed it merely a “Ihs wash”.
A JUIF spokesman confirmed that the party would not attend the APC called the PTI-led government. The ANP has also decided to boycott the conference.
ANP leader Mian Afshar Hussain said that the APC is being organized by the provincial government, not PTI, and that all important decisions have already been made. He remarked, “There is no need for the APC anymore.” We will not attend the government’s conference. “
Similarly, PPP has refused to participate. PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mohammad Ali Shah Bachr criticized the provincial government, calling it irrational and termed the APC merely a “ihsh”.
“Many discussions on law and order and other issues have already happened, but they have not come to the conclusion,” he said. “The provincial government should first withdraw from its sit -in and protest and focus on addressing public concerns.”
Jamaat -e -Islami (G) and the National Watan Party (QWP) announced their participation in the APC.
GKP central president Abdul Asee confirmed that senior party leader Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan will attend the APC. He added that JI supports every step to establish peace in the province.
The party, led by AFTAB Sherpao, said in a statement that QWP’s central information secretary Tariq Khan would represent the party at the conference.
The Government wants a united strategy
According to the CM Secretariat, invitations have been sent to the leadership of all political parties for consultation on the law and order situation in the province in connection with the meeting tomorrow.
The invitation highlights the recent increase in terrorist activities, especially in the integrated districts, which the Chief Minister has termed as a cause for serious concern. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to eliminate the threat of terrorism.
The letter added that government efforts could not be successful without the cooperation of all stakeholders. It emphasizes the urgent need for political parties to overcome their affiliations and will work together to devise a united strategy.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that all political parties will accept the invitation and will participate in their valuable suggestions and opinions during this important conference at the national level.
“Those who do not choose to attend the APC will be sending a message that they are indifferent to public concerns,” he told reporters.
Gandapur added that a briefing would be presented during the conference, in which the present government took charge and highlighted the situation.
The Chief Minister noted that the provincial government has spent billions of rupees on improving the police force and has organized tribal jirgas to seek public support.
Commenting on the criticism directed by the government, Gandpur said it was easy to identify the fingers. However, it is important for everyone to consider their behavior.
