In the day, the Early Times, women’s groups launch a silent procession through the hills parked in the gallows and the broken trails. Taking a metal container, they walk, sometimes barefoot, the last to the rest of the natural springs. These springs, deeply trapped inside the forest streets, have become a lifetime in the villages where the pipe water has never reached.
Their journey is not a traditional track. This is a need. Gallet forests and rich underwear filters to feed water and groundwater, but this ecosystem is being cleansed rapidly. What is left is a trick of clean water and so women run. Every day, for hours, make many visits because they can only get water.
Like many women in the gallows, it is also the story of a bright young woman, Robana, whom we recently met in Nagaribala. Robena lives in a group of 25 families. Its happy days are when it rains when it gets discharged from his usual journey until spring. Snowfall is even more pleasant because the snow and timely sunshine provides regular supply of water. But with the climate change, snow samples are changing. This year, the gallows in the Gallett found that the gallows had very little snow and it was too late this season.
The irony is that only eight kilometers away, the concrete Ayubia National Park, UNESCO’s heritage site and the general leopard are rapidly standing in the landscape around the residence of the species. The high rise ‘Double Tree by Hilton’ proudly offers a 100 -room hotel and a helicopter carved in the mountainous areas, causing bleeding into delicate water sheds. The building increases where the Lalazar once stands in front of the track. Now the track is on the road, which has a huge solid ladder ‘donated’ by Baron by Hilton. This is not an isolated development. The construction for luxury hotels and tourist infrastructure under the guise of environmental tourism is permanently claiming what is sacred: forests that keep water, have a shadow of springs and anchor the slopes.
There is no way to keep the natural trees retrieved with this rapid environmental degradation. Women’s footsteps are not just part of a background image, but a part of a unpaid, non -recognized system that keeps communities alive.
These projects are proud of tourism – or better, Eco -Tour, but cannot swallow this claim without a pinch of salt. According to the International Eco -Tourism Society, Eco Tourism is “responsible for the natural areas that protects the environment, maintains the welfare of the locals and involves translation and education.” The International Union for Protection of Nature also explains environmental tourism, but emphasizes that it should take part in the protection of bio -diversity and social development. Nevertheless, these large -scale projects often ignore the evaluation requirements of environmental impacts from the Galit Development Authority and are a manifestation of short -term planning. The demand for their water is far greater than the land that can offer the land. Tankers roared half of the paved roads to re -fill the hotel tanks, drawing rivers and Borolesses. While private taps have to enter the porcelain wash basin, women end up with each passing year.
Contradiction is brutal. People who protect the forest through their daily prevention. People who claim land in the name of progress are rarely observe the cost.
This is not a call against development, but a request for equity and remember that the forest cover is very low in Pakistan (five percent). These important water sheds are not able to change. We develop the most dangerous countries of the effects of climate change. The natural trees are no way to maintain speed with this rapid environmental collapse. Women’s footsteps are not just part of a background image, but a part of a unpaid, non -recognized system that keeps communities alive.
We face a row of integrated environmental, social and economic crises. They are all connected with each other, yet policies often resolve each one in isolation. The development that ignores water reservoirs, ignores women. The future of such methods will be dry long before the work of Springs.
