QUETTA: At least nine people were killed after being abducted by a passenger bus traveling from Quetta to Lahore, officials confirmed on Friday.
The incident took place near Zhob, a town in northern Balochistan, where armed attackers stopped the bus, removed passengers, and selected identification and nine people.
Assistant Commissioner Zhob, Naveed Alam, said the attackers opened fire on the kidnapped passengers after being removed from the vehicles.
He said that the bodies of the deceased have been shifted to Rakney Hospital in Barkhan district of Balochistan.
A provincial government spokesman strongly condemned the attack, calling it a terrorist act.
The spokesman, Shahid Rind, said, “The terrorists pulled the passengers from the bus, identified them, and then brutally killed nine innocent Pakistanis.”
The killing of defensive civilians is a clear example of the brutality of Fita Pandistan, the official said.
Security forces responded rapidly to reports of kidnapping, he said.
He said the attackers fled under the darkness. However, search is underway in the nearby region, the operation is underway to detect them.
Meanwhile, DG Khan Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed has said that the bodies of the passengers have been sent to Balochistan to take back to Punjab.
He said that the deceased travelers would be kept to rest in their local cities.
The Prime Minister did not show any kindness for the terrorists
On Friday, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the abduction and murder of bus passengers in Balochistan area of Sardhaka, expressing their commitment to avenge the blood of innocent people.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister said, “We will deal with the terrorists in full force. The blood of innocent people will be avenged.”
“With determination, unity and power, we will fight the curse of terrorism and completely root it,” he added.
Government to eliminate all terrorist networks: CM Bugti
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the brutal murder of passengers in Sardhaka, calling it a “open terrorism” which was carried out by elements associated with Fatn-Handstan.
Bugti said the attackers had deliberately targeted innocent civilians on the basis of their Pakistani identity, and called the act a “unforgivable crime”.
He said that the terrorists have once again revealed the nature of their cowardice and the beasts, adding that the blood of the innocent will not be bleeding.
He added, “Our response will be tough and decisive.”
Bugti vowed to eliminate all terrorist networks associated with Fitna-e-Hindustan. “We will crush every plan of terrorism with full force, irreversible determination and complete unity,” he said.
Government Spokes say Indian proxy behind the attack
Talking to Geo News on Friday, Rind said that the attack was not an isolated incident-this is a continuation of past incidents where innocent civilians were deliberately targeted by proxy of India, including footna Hindustan.
He said that at the beginning of the day, terrorists belonging to Fita al -Hindustan launched separate attacks in Mastung, Kalat and Saradagai areas of the province. However, he emphasized, saying that all the attacks by security forces in Masting and Kalat successfully withdrew.
He said the government had set up a set of SOPS for the security of these passenger buses, adding that the journey was prohibited overnight on the entire journey of N-70.
However, a bus, behind all the SOPs, left for the N-70 in the evening, adding that during this journey, this deadly incident occurred despite the fact that the provincial government had recently improved its security arrangements after reviewing the security plan.
He said that the government was allowing the defects in the security arrangements to prevent the accident so that such incidents could be prevented from happening again.
He also confirmed that a general threat to terrorism had already been issued, after which security was prepared in Kalat and Mastung, and passenger trains were stopped from traveling a day ago. However, there was no danger about the area where the incident took place.
Earlier, a spokesman for the provincial government had confirmed that terrorists affiliated with FITNA Al -Hindustan had launched attacks in Quetta, Kalat, Masting and Loralai.
According to the spokesman, security forces responded immediately and forcibly at the three affected places.
He assured the public that during the threat to the forces, the forces were fully vigilant to protect the lives, property and assets of the citizens.
In a separate incident, reports of abduction of passengers near Loralai were reported, the spokesman said.
The search process has been initiated to ensure the safe return of the kidnappers, he said.
Indian -backed terrorist groups have been active in Balochistan, especially in the recent war against Pakistan. Earlier today, the top leadership of the army also pledged to take decisive and comprehensive measures at all levels against Indian -backed and sponsored proxies.
In May, Pakistan saw a slight increase in militant attacks, even as military tensions with neighboring India failed to increase violence by extremist groups.
The data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS), based in Islamabad, indicates a 5 % increase in attacks compared to April, though the overall image shows that the militant groups are widespread despite regional geographical political climate.
According to the PICS monthly security diagnosis, 85 militant attacks were recorded in May, which increased from 81 to 81 in April.
The incident resulted in 113 deaths, including 52 security forces personnel, 46 civilians, 11 militants, and four members of the peace committees. This month, 182 people were injured, including 130 civilians, 47 security personnel, four militants, and members of a peace committee.
Although the total number of attacks has only seen a slight increase, the deep sinking in the data shows some trends.
Balochistan and KP have been the most affected provinces, which are 82 out of 85 attacks across the country.
Balochistan faced high -level violence, with a 35 militant attack, including 30 civilians, 18 security personnel, and three militants and 100 injured (94 civilians, five security personnel, one militant).
