Gemima Goldsmith has condemned the Pakistani government that she has threatened to stop her sons from contacting her father, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has spent almost two years in prison.
The 71 -year -old former cricket star and politician has been imprisoned since August 2023, with many cases, including corruption and terrorism, after being removed from office in April 2022 without voting without confidence.
Jemima and Khan were married in 1994 and was separated in 2004 after almost a decade.
Following his statement, after remarks by senior government officials, it has been suggested that if they enter Pakistan and take part in the Pakistan Thharik Justice (PTI) protests, Khan’s sons can be arrested, which is scheduled for the end or later of this month.
“My children are not allowed to speak on the phone with their father Imran Khan,” Jemima posted on X. He has been in isolation in prison for almost 2 years. “
“The government of Pakistan has now said that if they go there to try to see it, they will also be arrested and put behind bars. It is not in democracy or working condition. It is not politics. It is a personal revenge.”
During an interview to a private TV channel, after the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana, his comments came out, warned: “If Imran Khan’s sons come to Pakistan and join the movement, they will be arrested.”
When asked to explain, Sanaullah said: “Why will they not be arrested? If they come here to guide the violent movement, what will be the result?”
In a separate post, Qasim Khan, son Imran condemned his father’s treatment. “My father, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has now spent more than 700 days in jail – who were imprisoned in isolation,” Kasim wrote.
He added, “He has been denied access to his lawyers, visits from his family are not allowed, we are not completely disconnected from (his children), and even his personal doctor has been refused to enter.” “This is not justice. The law, democracy and the rule of Pakistan are a deliberate attempt to isolate and break the man.”
Talking about the Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Acill Country, Geo News’ Program “Capital Talk”, described: “We have no problem with them coming here, but we have a problem with them as a foreign citizen participating in political activity.”
Malik added, “If they intend to get a visa to meet Pakistan, the authorities concerned at the Interior Ministry will look at the purpose of his visit. But his aunt (Alima Khan) said he was coming to join the PTI movement.”
He emphasized, “They are coming to spread the dispute and there is no permission for it,” he also says: “If he had family values, he would meet his father first.”
The country further claimed that the PTI was “using these boys as a Trump card” in a political stunt.
During a hearing on Geo News program “Geo Pakistan”, PML -N Senator Irfan Siddiqui said: “He [Imran Khan] He wants to bring his children into politics, but his presence will not cause any political turmoil… If his children come to Pakistan, there will be no storm.
On PTI protest plans, Siddiqui remarked: “He [his sons] Or her sisters cannot save her release. His release depends on his actions.
He also dismissed rumors of the government’s change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that the current setup would remain in its place.
Talking to media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said: “The sons of the PTI founder have the right to be part of the movement.”
He added that both Imran and his wife Bashara Babi are entitled to suspend their sentences. Referring to Nazir, Raja said: “It is not wrong for anyone’s rights, because Benazir Bhutto also started a movement.”
Earlier, while talking outside Adiala Jail, Imran Khan’s sister Alima had said that Khan’s son, Qasim and Sulaiman, had planned to travel to Pakistan to raise awareness first and then join Pakistan to join the PTI’s political campaign.
