KARACHI/Islamabad: The official price of the better sugar government is higher than the official price per kilogram, which shows the average rate between Rs 175 and 1888.7 in major cities.
According to the official prices of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Friday, the highest average price of sugar was recorded at Rs 1888.7 per kg in Islamabad, followed by Rawalpindi at Rs 186.31, and after closely on Khusadar RSS 185. In comparison, Karachi, Lahore and Hyderabad reported the average prices of Rs 182.84, 180, and 177.32 respectively.
Almost all surveyed urban centers were found selling sugar at infected prices, which is constantly under control of prices and consumer budgets.
The state mandate price was fixed at 16 kg per kg earlier this year to control inflation. However, the government has failed permanently to ensure compliance.
PBS data also showed that weekly inflation is measured by sensitive price indicators (SPI), increased by 0.27 % for joint consumption groups during the week ended June 19.
According to PBS data, the aforementioned group was recorded at 310.35 points for the week, compared to 309.51 points last week.
As compared to the same week of last year, the SPI for the joint consumption group declined 2.06 % in the weekly week.
The weekly SPI with 20 years 2015-16 = 100 covers 17 urban centers and 51 essential items for all expenditure groups.
For the lowest consumption group, the SPI saw an increase of Rs 17,732, an increase of 0.05 % and it increased from 299.44 points last week to 299.58 points.
