A London -binding passenger plane, carrying 242 passengers, crashed into buildings in Ahmedabad, India, killing more than 240 people along with a survivor.
The dead were added to the people on the ground, in the south of the British capital, on the way to Gatok Airport, crashed in the medical college hostel at lunch.

He said his brother Ajay was seated in a different row of plane. He said, “He was traveling with me and I can’t find it anymore. Please help me find him.”
Police chief Malik said the bodies recovered could include both passengers and those killed on the ground. Federal Minister CR Patil said that the dead included former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, including Ahmedabad, the main city.

The aircraft was Boeing 787-8 Dream Liner, one of the latest passenger aircraft at the service, Aviation tracking site Filgradar 24 said.
According to the Aviation Safety Network Database, it was the first Dreamliner’s accident, which launched a commercial flight in 2011. The crashing plane on Thursday was flying for the first time in 2013 and was flown to Air India in January 2014, Flagadar 24 said.
‘Surviving’

NDTV named it as British Indian man Vishwash Kumar Ramesh.
Talking to the Hindustan Times newspaper, Ramesh said that he heard “loud noise” around 30 seconds of take -off before going down the plane.
“All this happened so quickly,” he said, adding that he received “effects of effects” on his chest, eyes and feet.

Boeing said he was aware of preliminary reports and was working to collect more information. Shares of the Boeing ban declined by 5 % as the crash made a major setback for the planner as its new CEOs are looking to rebuild confidence after a series of security and production challenges.
According to India’s CNBC TV 18, aircraft engine makers GE Aerospace said it would collect a team to go to India and analyze cockpit data.
The US National Transportation Safety Board said it would guide a team of US investigators going to India to assist in the investigation.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has been stunned and we have grieved.”
British Prime Minister Kerry Starr said the images emerging in the crash were “devastating”, and that the situation was being informed with the development of the situation. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said that King Charles was also being updated.
