In the opening season of the World Bowling League (WBL) in early 2026, six franchisees will face six franchises, supported by the great baseball’s Mociam Bates and Cricket Selance Virat Kohli, the league’s chief, Mishra, informed Reuters.
Through a strong combination of celebrity franchise owners, foreign places, and technical innovation, WBL hopes a popular activity for millions of people around the world will create a sophisticated, TV event.
“This is an incredible game that has not been properly configured for the past 50-60 years and everyone rejects it as a recreational activity,” Mishra said in a video call in the United States, the founder and CEO of the Sports Tech firm League Sports Company.
“We’re going to launch with six franchises in the first quarter of next year. It’s going to be a team of four – two men and two women.”
Mishra did not know about the format but said that professional bowlers will compete in the basic sports while celebrities will participate in support programs, in which teams collect points throughout the season.
In ancient Egypt, with its inception, the bowling daily in the United States was in the 1960s and 70s when every city and suburbs had its own street.
Even today, about 200 million people put flat solid shoes and take them to the lane every year, including 75 million in the United States, Mishra said.
The WBL is not a first attempt to make a professional circuit in the Tenapan Game in any way, and American Dawn ‘Mr Bowling’ Carter was the first athlete in any game to ink a $ 1 million sponsorship contract in 1964.
Mishra says, separates the WBL from the previous efforts, it has reached global – League is in the modern phase of finalizing franchises in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and India.
“Our first basic basis was this – how can we take it and make it a passionate product?” Mishra added.
“We want to take two lanes and keep them in famous places around the world.
Made for a TV event
The Los Angeles Dodgers Shorts Top Beats purchased the first announced franchise in May, and WBL pulled another marketing uprising when Kohli arrived on the plane last month as a strategic investor.
Mishra did not provide financial details of the purchase of the bat but said that the sale of the remaining franchises was in the final stages.
The league plans to facilitate scoring, combine a host of celebrity and corporate supporters, and use hair tracking and other technology to make products working on television and digital platforms.
Mishra said that a complimentary programming programming will be made by the bowlers of celebrities like Baits and Kohli around the basic game.
“We already have a lot of broadcasters standing in line and many of them think the game, the way we have designed it, can fit into their ultra -premium class.
“Many of them think that they can bring other influence and celebrities, whatever they come and bowl. So there is a lot of ‘shoulder programming’ that you can create with the game, which is not possible with many other sports.”
Mishra and Kohli know each other through the joint ownership of a team at the E1 Electric Power Boat World Championship, and the cricketer’s hobby for bowling was like a pleasant surprise because the WBL was in the planning phase.
“Over the years, I have met many celebrities who become a closet bowler,” Mishra said.
“We were talking about different things about the team and found that he was bowling and watching it since the age of 11-12.
“It was a great surprise to me and we wanted to be part of it. Hopefully when we have more time for it, we will bowl it.”
