WASHINGTON: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned that Hindutva -powered extremism in India has become a “new and dangerous reality”, which has pose a serious threat not only to the country’s own minorities but also regional peace and global stability.
Speaking at a lunch hosted by the Pakistani ambassador in honor of the Pakistani multilateral delegation in Washington, DC, he said, “From Gujarat riots to Samit Express attack, those responsible have never been punished-the fact, they are often forgiven.”
The former Foreign Minister, with a nine -member high -level parliamentary delegation, is currently visiting the United States, to present Pakistan’s position on the recent military conflict with India and challenge New Delhi’s statement internationally.
The members of the parliamentary delegation include Hina Rabbani Khar, Sherry Rehman, Dr. Mosdak Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Jalil Abbas Jalani, Thamin Jinjawa, Basharya Anjjum Butt and Syed Faisal Sabzwari.
A high -level diplomatic delegation led by Bilawal has met with various US lawmakers and has continued an important meeting with US Congress members on Capital Hill to highlight New Delhi’s provocation and aggression against Islamabad.
The recent dispute between nuclear armed countries was mobilized by New Delhi on April 22 after India illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Phalgam, where gunmen killed 26 civilians. India labeled it as a terrorist act that Pakistan had committed, which has been denied by leaders in Islamabad.
Addressing the lunch, Bilawal demanded a united, unprecedented approach. He said, “I do not connect terrorism to any religion or culture. It has no border and should be condemned globally,” he said, adding that all countries have been urged to reject terrorism in all its forms – whether it is religious, nationalist or separatist.
He also criticized the rise of Hindutva extremism in India, saying that its roots in society and state structures have deep roots. He pointed to the RSS, the ruling BJP’s ideological parents, as the main driver of this extremist agenda, said, “From Gujarat riots to the Samit Express attack, those responsible have never been punished – in fact, they are often forgiven.”
In addition, he said the recent five -day conflict has exposed India’s so -called “pure security provider”, which has been shown as a source of insecurity for South Asia and the wider global community.
He added, “India’s actions had reduced the threshold of armed conflict in the region to a dangerous extent … he started a war on the basis of lies and could not win.”
Bilawal said that India has long presented itself in the West, especially the United States as a stable force, which justifies foreign aid and defense deals.
He emphasized, “US taxpayers are subsidizing India’s military industrial complex under the deception that it provides regional stability. But these five days of conflict proved to be otherwise,” he said, emphasizing that India and Pakistan are peaceful and peaceful.
Presenting unknown persons as a permanent device on the Indian state ship, he criticized Indian media for promoting fake news during the dispute.
He noted, “The three parties are making claims in this situation.
The PPP chief said that even now, India has refused to recognize the number of its lost aircraft and is instead depending on its explanation.
Referring to a tweet by US Senator Marco Rubio, Bilawal said he has pointed to three important developments: ceasefire, the beginning of future talks at a neutral place, and all the points of friction. He added, “This shows that the international community does not see the story of India credible.”
In response to a question, he noted that Pakistan never needed to seek its nuclear capabilities to emphasize domination. “We did not rely on our nuclear weapons to prevent aggression,” he said.
He also addressed the aggressive rhetoric of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to inflammation remarks like “Eat Bread or My Pill”, which Bilawal said it was impossible to revise Pakistan’s policies in the atmosphere of enmity.
He called for an end to the accusations of sports and called on the two countries to work together to tackle terrorism and establish peace. He concluded, “Instead of identifying the finger and feeding the enmity cycle, we have to struggle for dialogue and stability. This is the only way forward.”
