Former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zaidasri addressed a high-stake meeting on Capital Hill on Friday addressing members of the Foreign Committee of the US House of Representatives, warning India’s increasing aggressive currency.
He called on US lawmakers to support Pakistan’s “peace mission” and promote dialogue to stop a possible conflict in the region.
Bilawal, who is leading a high -level dedication cross, is engaged in a comprehensive dialogue with the current regional dynamics, the long -standing Kashmir issue, and the overall state of US -Pakistan relations.
The diplomatic team has called on a number of US lawmakers to address Pakistan’s concerns and highlight New Delhi’s provocation against Islamabad, emphasizing the need for new cooperation and understanding in the South Asian Geo -Politics.
The members of the parliamentary delegation include Hina Rabbani Khar, Sherry Rehman, Dr. Mosdak Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Jalil Abbas Jalani, Thamin Jinjawa, Basharya Anjjum Butt and Syed Faisal Sabzwari.
The recent series of delegation meetings with US lawmakers and diplomats have come as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach move as a result of a recent armed conflict with India.
Last month, neighbors equipped with both nuclear weapons carried out cross-border attacks against each other as a result of the Pahalgam incident-in which 26 tourists were killed in IIOJK-after which New Delhi launched airstrikes inside Pakistan and later operated on Bonnam-ul-Mamar.
At least 87 hours later, the war between the two nuclear armed countries ended May 10 with a ceasefire agreement by the United States.
In the latest delegation meetings, Bilawal briefed the US delegation, which included Congress’ Jackbergman, Tom Suzi, Ryan Zinc, Maxin Waters, El Green, Jonathan Jackson, Hank Johnson, Stsi Plasket, Brian Mast, Brad Sherman, Gregory Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max, Hanri Max.
One of the major points of concern raised by the former Foreign Minister was the unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Agreement in India.
He clearly termed the move as “violation of international law”, saying “India is setting a dangerous example of using water resources as a weapon”.
Bilawal warned that “the suggestion of shutting down water for 240 million Pakistanis is a threat. If India takes this step, it will be equivalent to the declaration of war.”
In addition, “the positive role of the United States in reducing the tension between Pakistan and India” and his efforts to achieve the recent ceasefire, and praising them, Bilawal emphasized that the ceasefire was “just a beginning”.
He emphasized, “South Asia, India and Pakistan and the whole world indirectly, is far more unsafe than the beginning of this crisis.”
He further warned that “the threshold of war between Pakistan and India has never been so low in our history, highlighting a dangerous trend where” any terrorist incident in India, whether proven or not, is considered to be the meaning of war. “
Emphasizing the situation, Bilawal informed US lawmakers that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had entrusted his delegation to the “peace mission”.
He explained that the mission is to “find solutions to problems through dialogue and diplomacy with India.” He called on US lawmakers to “continue their efforts to establish peace and stability in South Asia” and “help us in this peace mission”.
“If the United States has its power behind peace, it can persuade India that it is the right thing to solve our problems,” Bilawal emphasized that “the solution to the Kashmir problem is in the interest of all of us.”
He called on the United States to “facilitate meaningful and constructive dialogue between Pakistan and India” and “demand that India be stopped from achieving policies that would destabilize the region and the world.”
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh thanked US lawmakers and concluded the meeting.
In addition, addressing a preserman, Senator Sherry Rehman, who is also part of Bilawal’s parliamentary delegation, said the recent 87 -hour war was just a trailer, which was actually a manifestation of Pakistan’s integrated reaction.
He remarked, “This war was part of India’s strategy to keep the region in a Bollywood -style tension,” he added, adding that the Indian media is promoting war sentiment by restricting peace rhetoric.
Describing Pakistan’s military response to Indian aggression as legal and limited, Rehman warned that any misunderstanding or mistake between the two nuclear powers could result in immediate destruction of millions.
Senator Rehman said, “The nuclear dispute will be uncontrollable in a densely populated and sensitive region like South Asia.”
Expressing gratitude to the United States for interference and mediation efforts to broker the ceasefire, Rehman warned that if there was no purpose and principle negotiations, the trailer could soon turn into a global tragedy.
“The Kashmir issue is possible in the framework of serious and multilateral negotiations [….] He lamented that India neither recognizes multilateral nor take bilateral talks seriously and also refuses to mediate the third party, which is essential for any serious action, “he expressed regret.
