PESHAWAR: A new protest campaign is being launched to secure the release of Umran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-Justice (PTI), on Friday, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Advisor to the Chief Minister about the information.
In response to a question during his visit to the Peshawar Press Club, he said, “Yes, the KP Chief Minister has been directed by Imran Khan,” where he presented a check for Rs 50 million by the provincial government as a financial assistance to the club and later spoke to the media.
In response to another question, Saif said that the party made sincere efforts for political dialogue.
He explained, “On one occasion, a formal negotiation committee was set up, which was engaged in talks with the government, but the process stopped and eventually the committee was dissolved.”
The adviser emphasized that PTI has continued its efforts on political, constitutional and legal fronts to secure Imran Khan’s release.
Saif emphasized that the only way to achieve stability was that he described as a baseless, politically motivated case filed against Imran Khan and PTI leaders, and had to release innocent political prisoners so that they could join the mainstream political process.
He said that Imran Khan had been in jail for two years but he neither apologized nor relieved nor endured all the difficulties with patience.
He added, “Whoever believes that keeping Imran Khan behind bars will change the political scenario is deception. The interest of the state, the nation and the government is in searching for a peaceful resolution for this sarcasm.”
He described the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) anti -corruption protests as a height of political hypocrisy and sarcasm.
“The world knows that if a party is most associated with corruption, it is PPP.”
Commenting on the use of force against the recent PPP protests, Saif said, “If you illegally enter the red zone and harm public property, the law will respond.
Police used only legal and reasonable force – no bullets were fired, nor was any illegal action taken.
Regarding relations with Afghanistan, Saif revealed that the KP government has repeatedly submitted formal and informal requests to allow the federal government to send a delegation to the neighboring country to directly engage with Afghan authorities on issues affecting KP.
Saif accused the federal government of political incompetence and diplomatic dishonesty, claiming that it was a hindrance to provincial efforts and prevents meaningful engagement with Afghanistan.
Criticizing the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said: “The Foreign Minister traveled to the world but failed to go to Afghanistan, our neighboring country, which is a major failure of foreign policy.”
In response to a question about deportation of Afghan citizens, Saif made it clear that the KP government did not agree.

He said that Afghan refugees are viewed as brothers, and treating them with sympathy and brotherhood is a human and religious responsibility.
“The Chief Minister has repeatedly said that the provincial government does not endorse the federal government’s view on the return of Afghan refugees.
We believe that Afghans are involved in our language, culture, religion and belief.
He said that the KP government was taking concrete steps for the welfare of journalists.
“Public resources are being used transparent, fair and effectively to enhance the professionalism, training and institutional development of the journalism community,” he added.
