WASHINGTON: Seasonal experts are warning that the United States can see many major hurricanes this year. But at the same time, the US administration is cutting staff and funds at the country’s main weather agency Noaa.
It can be difficult for people to be safe when it comes to early warnings from these deductions and when big storms come.
On Thursday, the US National Oceanic and Women’s Administration (NOAA) predicted a more severe weather for the Atlantic Hurricane this year – even when the Trump administration is moving forward to batch the agency’s workforce and reduce its budget.
The NOAA is predicting a 60 % possibility of the weather above normal, with a namely storm of 13 and 19 with winds of 39 miles per hour (63 km per hour) or more.
Six to 10 of them are expected to become hurricanes with winds of 74 miles per hour or more, including three to five major hurricanes, including three, four, or five categories with at least 111 miles per hour.
The agency said there is a 30 % possibility of a nearly normal weather and less than 10 % of the usual season.
The administration is also trying to abolish the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and instead demanded that its duties be handed over to individual states.
The acting head of FEMA, Cameron Hamilton -, which was appointed by the Trump administration, was fired earlier this month, saying that the termination of the agency was “not in the best interest of the American people.”
The warming sea
The prophecy refers to a confluence of factors: El Nano-Jannabi Oscallation (ENSO) climate sample, average temperatures, predictions of weak air scissors, and increased activity from Western African monsoon to neutral conditions-to-stormy tornadoes.
“When we saw the main floods from Hurricane Helen and Debbie last year, the effects of hurricanes could reach far more than coastal communities.”
“Noaa is important for providing early and accurate predictions and warnings, and provides scientific skills needed to save lives and property.”
But former NOAA Administrator, Rick Spinner, told AFP that he was deeply concerned about the agency’s ability to respond after the widespread rid of meteorologists, technicians and other key personnel, headed by Elon Musk, headed by Elon Musk.
“I worry about the ability to blow up aircraft, drive models, respond to phones, because these storms start exploding on the country – at the same time when seasonal services have to deal with storms, forest fires, floods, heavy rain,”
The spinrad added that seawater temperatures have been rising for decades as a result of burning of foam fuel. “So this is not surprising, and of course, climate change has played an important role in some of the sea temperatures, which are an important factor in this prediction.”
President Donald Trump is trying to reduce $ 1.3 billion in NOAA’s budget next year. The Project 2025-Conservative Blue Print, which the administration is using to guide its second-term agenda-has declared the agency an important driver of the “climate danger”.
According to the NOAA, last year, the five storms that were so big that they were assigned to the names, which caused the economic losses to be more than a billion dollars, which was adjusted for inflation.
The deadliest of them was Helen, responsible for 250 US deaths – the highest after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The Trump administration announced earlier this month that it would stop updating its dollar dollar dollar database, which clarified the rising cost of climate instability for 44 years.
