San Francisco: The legendary designer behind Apple’s iPhone, Jonny Iowe, has joined the Open to make devices created to use artificial intelligence, according to a video published on Wednesday by the Chat GPT maker.
The ive and his team will handle the design as part of the acquisition of their startup in Openai, worth $ 6.5 billion.
Sharing any details, Open’s chief executive Sam Altman said in the video that a prototype Ive shared with it “This is the best piece of technology that the world has ever seen.”
San Francisco -based AI company ended the clip with a message that it is looking forward to sharing the device’s support next year.
The British -born Ive was an Apple employee from 1992 to 2019, during which time he monitored the development of the brand’s small products, from IMAC and Air Pods to iPod, iPhone and Apple Watch.
Working with Apple’s co -founder Steve Jobs, its design revived Apple, making it a world -class company for the world’s third largest market capitalization and product design.
The new technology of change like AI -like change deserves a revolutionary new method to communicate with it, Altman said.
Comparing AI with “Magic Intelligence”, Altman said that the technology behind the Chattagotte is “something better” than typing questions in a laptop.
The couple said in a joint position, “It began to cooperate with Ultman two years ago, and it became clear that our ambitions for the manufacture, engineer and manufacture of a new product of the product were completely demanded by a new company.”
“The products we are using to provide and integrate with unimaginable technology are decades old,” said Iow.
“So at least thinking is just wit, of course, something ahead of these legacy products.”
Revolution of smartphones?
Putting its hot chat boot into a new type of gadget can be a threat to Apple, which is struggling with its AI strategy, especially when it comes to improving its Siri Digital Assistant.
Apple’s shares in trade after the market on Wednesday were almost three percent lower.
Almost a year after announcing the integration of many features of Generative AI in its new iPhone 16, Apple has been slow to implement them.
California -based Capetino has also postponed the release of the latest version of its Siri Voice Assistant until next year.
Amazon is also involved in the race to put Generative AI into devices, which is adding this technology to its Alexa Voice Assistant, the role of the service is currently underway.
Dubbed Alexa+ and promoted with AI, the adoption of Amazon technology is mainly for home -related devices, such as smart speaker or television.
In 2024, the hypid start -up Human launched its AI pin, a square gadget that would be worn like a brochure that was capable of answering, taking photos and making phone calls to theoretically speaking questions.
But due to its high cost and poor performance, it failed to catch faster, and was later acquired by HP at a lower price.
Roger Bihari Lal, director of the IDC’s Advertising and Marketing Technology Research, said it remains to be seen if a gadget dedicated to the use of AI can remove smartphones that still rule modern lifestyle.
“Right now, the phone is the medium by which you can access these technologies,” said Bihari Lal.
“If anyone can know what the next generation interface looks like, this is probably Mr. Ive.”
Openi has become one of the most successful companies in the Silicon Valley, which, with the release of the Chat GPT in 2022, has pursued its importance with the release of its Generative AI Chatboat.
