Since the tensions between Pakistan and India are increasing despite last week’s ceasefire, India has stopped access to the account of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator and former Federal Minister Sherry Rehman on X (formerly Twitter).
New Delhi, May 6, launched an illegal military attack against Islamabad, without providing any evidence to connect Pakistan with the Pahalgam incident in Jammu and Kashmir illegally.
To ensure its sovereignty, there was little option to respond with Pakistan and bring the attacker to the senses. In doing so, it also surprised the world, including six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafael, an S-400 missile defense system, and hacking core installments.
Former Minister Federal said that blocking on the social media platform X at the request of the Indian government is “the badge of honor”, announcing that India has changed “existence”.
The Senator made these comments after receiving formal notification from X, and told him that his account in India has been stopped after his request to legally remove the Indian Government under his Information Technology Act, 2000.
Not only Rehman, but India has also stopped access to X accounts of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Bilal Bhutto-Zardari.
In his statement published in a publicly published on X, Rehman strongly criticized Narendra Modi’s government, calling it a “Hindutva Republic” and said: “Communication is key to stable, strong states.
“There is little to say to those who raise questions about Pakistan’s existence,” he added.
Nevertheless, he emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue between neighbors armed with both nuclear weapons, saying: “The wise people should still continue to talk to each other in the two countries so that history cannot be erased as well as the powers of common coexistence for the future.”
Rehman noted that the voices of peace and coexistence in India have been “shrinking” and “there is no unknown because of the fear of serial abuse.” He also reiterated that “Kashmir, Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), and there are not many military solutions to bilateral issues that destroy the peace of the nuclear region.”
He concluded, “Modi’s India needs to overcome this fact,” he said, citing the recent dispute, “#2025 warfare proved it.”
According to the formal communication with Harman’s Joint X, the platform received a formal legal request from the Government of India claiming that his positions had violated Indian law. Although this content is visible outside India, X has stopped it inside the country in compliance with Indian rules and regulations. When government officials receive requests for removal of content, the company also reaffirmed his commitment to inform users.
Meanwhile, the famous Pakistani music has suddenly been removed from the popular streaming platform spataf in India, which has given rise to anxiety and frustration among music lovers.
Earlier this week, the Indian government had also ordered some Chinese state media – China’s state -run news agency Xinhua, and a tabloid, the Global Times – blocked social media accounts. The Turkish Territory was also blocked.
The independent news site The Wire, and the Indian News platform, were also blocked inside India.
Social Media Platform X said it received executive orders to stop more than 8,000 accounts in India, including Free Press Kashmir and Kashmiris and Muttaba Media, which focuses on human rights and minorities.
At the end of April, the government also stopped an Indian and 19 Pakistani YouTube channels, a journalist was attacked and two political observers and sarcastic coverage of the Kashmir attack.
