Istanbul: Turkey is deploying all kinds of diplomatic efforts to reduce Syria’s relations with the West and to secure the Russian nuclear talks, which has burned its diplomatic stance with Donald Trump’s approval.
Russian President Vladimir Putin himself presented Istanbul as a place of talks with Ukraine on Thursday – the city where Turkey hosted a cycle between Moscow and Kiev at the beginning of the war, which was another period in Entalya.
It was in the coastal city of Antalia that the NATO Foreign Ministers began gathering at a meeting on Wednesday evening in which they would discuss the increase in defense spending.
And a new round of dialogue between Iran and the so-called E3 powers-Britain, France and Germany is likely to be in Istanbul this weekend.
Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in a historic meeting of a milestone between Trump and Syria’s new leader Ahmed al -Shahara, praising the US leader’s decision to lift sanctions on Damascus.
“Turkey has become one of the centers of peace diplomacy today,” Erdogan said while speaking to lawmakers on behalf of his ruling AKP.
“One of the countries whose help, aid and mediation has been called to resolve regional and global crises is undoubtedly Turkey.”
Washington has attracted Turkey thanks to a personal relationship between Trump and Erdogan, analysts say.
“Trump loves Erdogan, it seems that he has really hot personal feelings about Erdogan,” Max Ibrahs, a professor of international security, told AFP.
“Turkey is a very important country in the world and there are many reasons that strong relations with Turkey help the United States geographically politically,” he said.
He said, “But the personal relationship between them was” unruly, and was frequently recognized by Trump. “
Talking to his telephone last week, Trump said he wanted to work with Erdogan to end Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
“I’m looking forward to working with President Erdogan to be ridiculous, but the war between the deadly, Russia and Ukraine ended – now!” Trump posted his truth on social network.
Erdogan intensified diplomatic contacts at the weekend.
He spoke on the phone with Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron, who visited Kiev with Germany, Britain and Poland leaders on the occasion of solidarity with Ukrainian President Wolodmeer Zelannski.
Together, he called on Moscow to accept a 30 -day unconditional ceasefire, in which Zilnsky says he expects Putin to demonstrate Istanbul’s talks on Thursday.
With little sign of Putin’s arrival, it is not yet clear who will send Moscow to his position.
Trump said on Wednesday that even if Putin went, he would go.
Aaron Stein, head of the US -based Foreign Policy Research Institute, agreed that Ankara was now “taking advantage of Donald Trump”.
He told AFP, “The same is the one who has forced talks about the ceasefire associated with Ankara, so it creates a need for a Turkish or Saudi location for Ukraine negotiations.”
He said that on Iran, it is rarely.
He said that Trump is “trying to eliminate his policy mistake” to withdraw from a major powers and a major 2015 agreement between Iran, which relieved sanctions in exchange for non -surveillance sanctions on his nuclear activities.
“Trump is very clear: he likes Erdogan.”
A Turkish official, who requested not to disclose his name, confirmed the hot ties between the two leaders. But he added: “These are Trump who set this warm degree.
“Trump’s latest statements have brought the relationship to a more sincere level,” the official told AFP. “Both leaders are looking for matters from the point of view.”
For the Niger Goxyel of the international crisis group, Turkey’s geography and its position gave itself an upper hand with a careful balance of years.
“Ankara’s defense sector has also increased its place,” he said.
NATO member Turkey has maintained good relations with both Ukraine and Russia. Staying from Western -led sanctions on Moscow, it has provided Kiev to a drone.
“Success in these roles also reinforces Turkey’s international stature and is locally popular, Goxyl told AFP, which serves the political interests of the government.”
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga, who met his Turkish counterpart Hakan Faden in Intelligence, praised Turkey’s role.
“The center of the World Diplomacy is now in Turkey, which is playing an active role in arbitration,” he said.
