ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has introduced the “National Cyber Security Policy -2021 (NCSP)” in the National Assembly, which has a safe, strong, strong and permanent improvement to ensure a secure, strong, and a digital environmental environment across the country. According to the NCSP presented in light of the “Digital Pakistan Policy 2018” by the IT Ministry, “a safe, strong, and continuous nationwide digital ecosystem for Pakistan is to ensure the availability of digital assets that lead to confidentiality, integrity, and social development and national security.
“The NCSP gives a framework for effective implementation of cyber security measures, which will increase cyber defense capabilities.
“An institutional environmental system is one of the most important pillars to implement cyber -scoring measures.” The NCSP -2021 considered the three -level view/level (1) national -based institutional environmental system, the computer emergency response teams (CERT). (2) Sector; (3) Organizational/Enterprise.
Certificates are responsible for protecting, detecting and protecting its response against cyber -scoring events, and will increase the country’s ability to handle cyber security incidence.
In addition, the NCSP is focused on key sectors to enhance national cyber defense capabilities, such as institutional framework. The IT Ministry made rules of CERT in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, which was approved by the Federal Cabinet in 2023.
Under the policy, a “cloud office” has been set up in the IT Ministry, while the standard of accreditation is published in other framework such as purchasing and cloud service provider, including the classification of service providers in accordance with the compulsory “cloud security requirements”.
Big players from the IT and Telecom industry have already shown a keen interest in investing and increasing cloud -based infrastructure. Personal data protection bill is in its last period of consultation with stakeholders.
