Kiev: Ukrainian President Wolodmeer Zelannsky has rejected the three -day ceasefire proposed by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, adding that Kiev is ready for a complete ceasefire.
He said that this offer was not a serious step towards peace, but a show for Moscow, just before the May 9 celebrations of Russia.
Moscow said that the war, which took place on May 9, was to test Kiev’s “preparation” for long -term peace, Moscow said. He also accused Zilnski of “directly threat” the holiday incidents.
The Kremlin rejected the 30 -day unconditional ceasefire in Kiev and Washington in March, and then Putin has offered very little to end the three -year Russian attack.
“This is the theater performing by them, because in two or three days, it is impossible to develop a plan for the next step to end the war.”
He was talking to a small group of journalists, including AFP, in the remarks on Friday.
Some people in Ukraine have criticized the war as an attempt to prevent Kiev from interrupting World War II’s birthday celebrations. Foreign leaders in Moscow need to see a military parade on Red Square and watch Putin’s address.
Ukraine said that “the game will not play” to create a pleasant atmosphere to allow Putin’s loneliness on May 9, Zelinsky said.
Leader headed to Moscow
In his address to Syria, the Ukrainian leader added that he did not see any “preparations” by Russia for a long -term ceasefire.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the purpose of the short, three -day trace was to examine “Kiev’s long -term preparations to find ways to achieve sustainable peace”.
Regional officials said Russian shelling killed two people in the Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region on Saturday, while another person was killed in a drone strike in the southern Ukrainian city of Kharson.
Meanwhile, Russian authorities accused Ukraine of attacking the southern port city of Noorosis overnight, which damaged apartments buildings and injured five people.
According to the Kremlin, leaders from around 20 countries, including China’s Xi Jinping, have accepted invitations to join the May 9 celebration.
Zillski said some countries had warned Kiev that he was traveling to Russia and requested security.
“Our status is very easy for all countries who are traveling or traveling to Russia on May 9 – we cannot accept responsibility for what is happening in the Russian Federation area,” he said.
“They are ensuring your safety,” he said, adding that Russia “can take various steps, such as fire, explosion, and so on and then,” he said.
Zlinski did not say what Ukraine would do during reconciliation, but Russia jumped on comments, accusing Kiev of “directly threat” memories.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakarova said on the telegram, “They are threatening the physical safety of veterans who will come to the parade and celebrations on the occasion of the day.” “His statement … is certainly a direct danger.”
‘See things differently’
Russian officials have promised great events for the occasion, during which Putin will seek help for the fight for his troops in Ukraine.
Russian troops are taking drastic advantage of several parts of the front, as both Moscow and Kiev have intensified their air strikes.
The United States has warned that if it does not see progress, it can abandon efforts to broker the ceasefire.
US State Department spokesman Timi Bruce said this week, Washington is looking for “a complete, sustainable ceasefire and an end to conflict” instead of a three -day moment.
President Donald Trump has overcome US policy on Russia since taking over the Kremlin.
On February 28, the White House had a camera clash between Trump and Zilnski, where the two leaders began to sign a mineral agreement that provided us with access to Ukrainian resources in exchange for any protection.
Ukraine then re -discussed the deal, in which Washington and Kiev will jointly develop and invest in Ukraine’s major mineral resources.
Zlinski said Friday that the deal is beneficial for both sides and is protected from the interests of Ukraine, though it does not provide any concrete security guarantee for the contract.
This was followed by a meeting between Trump and Zillski at the end of April before the funeral of Pope Francis in the Vatican, the first contest after his public confrontation.
“We have had the best talk of all these people before,” Zilnsky said on Friday.
“I am sure that after our meeting in the Vatican, President Trump began to see things in a slightly different way.”
