Since the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 reached its half -way, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam has presented a clear review of his team’s performance, and has labeled “mixed experience”.
The former Pakistan captain has acknowledged both the team’s consequences and contradictions in their own batting form.
Zalmi started his campaign with two victories, which was indicated at a strong start. However, Babar noted that the team now needs to find consistency after suffering losses in different stages of the game.
Babar confessed, “Half of the tournament has passed, and we have lost the match – sometimes in batting, sometimes in bowling,” Babar confessed, which is a special area of concern for the captain.
He added, “In particular, our fielding has not been good. Regardless of the conditions, we must stick to the project and make sure that we will not leave the catch or lose wickets in important moments.”
On a personal front, Babar acknowledged the expectations of his batting.
“I enjoy this short innings even, but I have not found the game for a long time,” he said. He attributed it to the nature of the game: “I make mistakes and try to correct them the next time, though there are new mistakes – this is cricket. The key is how you are focused. I am still very focused.”
He also focused on the ongoing debates about strike rates and aggressive games in modern cricket, Babar maintained his confidence in his point of view.
He commented, “I play according to my game and I understand where cricket is. I know people talk about strike rates and aggressive games.”
He added, “I don’t need to prove what kind of player I am – everyone already knows. I always play according to the situation and the need for the team. I am fully aware of my strike rate.”
Has Babar ever played on his preferred position?
Babar made it clear that he has never insisted on playing in a particular batting position.
He said, “No one has changed as much positions as I have. I have batted at number six and even opened. Whether it be for the franchise or the national team, I always play where I play. I never said that I would not bat on a certain number of poor performance.”
Babar said he believes in showing performance rather than making statements.
“I know how to talk, but my elders taught me to respect others. My job is to perform in the field. I work hard and never be satisfied with my performance. Even when I am number one, I always look forward and think about my country.”
Moreover, Babar revealed that decisions about his T20 career rest with selectors and coaches.
“It’s not up to me whether I am playing or resting. My job is to do – whether it’s T20, ODIs or Test cricket. I was told that I was being restored to T20S, let’s see what they decide next.”
Moreover, he emphasized that the T20s caused the ODIs irrelevant “not true”.
Babar said, “50 over format tests your patience, and now we are seeing that the scores are more than 350. ODIs have always been special to me, full of good memories and performances.”
PSL A ‘World Class League’
In addition, the 30 -year -old batsman emphasized that PSL is a world -class league and felt that his graph had not diminished.
He said, “Interest can be different from the match to the match, but overall quality remains. Foreign players want to participate. The bowling quality is excellent. Each team has bowlers, which are more than 145 km per hour.”
Although Babar acknowledged the love and support of his fans, he acknowledged that the expectations of the fans create pressure.
He said: “Their love and help mean that I should perform in front of them. It gives me confidence when I go wherever I go.
“I was dreaming of playing there one day. Now I was happy for me. I remember I remember starting as a hair picking and later playing as a bowler. I am really grateful to Allah and feel a great responsibility for my fans not to be disappointed.”
He added that he also enjoys the memes made about himself, saying that he is a sign of love for the fans.
