The United States Department of State has warned its citizens against the trip to Pakistan in a travel consultation on Friday, calling for such a move because of the threat of “terrorism and armed conflict”.
The “Level 3” travel advisory, issued by the State Department’s Consular Affairs Bureau, warned that “terrorist transport centers, markets, shopping malls, military installations, airports, universities, tourist attackers, schools, hospitals, hospitals, and worshipers.”
According to a report by the World Terrorism Index 2025, Pakistan emerged as the second most terrorist country in the world in 2024.
It was placed from the fourth position to second position, the country witnessed a 45 % increase in terrorism. In 2023, the number of casualties increased from 748 to 2024.
Meanwhile, the number of terrorist attacks increased from 517 in 2023 to 1,099 in 2024, which also marked the first year that the attacks exceeded the number 1,000 since the beginning of the index.
Earlier this week, at least five soldiers and 13 civilians were martyred in a terrorist attack on Bannu’s camp in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which security forces eliminated all 16 terrorists involved.
The Foreign Department’s consultation added that Pakistan’s security environment is flowing, sometimes rarely or with notice.
It states that “in major cities, especially Islamabad, and in these areas, security forces have more security resources and infrastructure.
In addition, the US government has also warned that the nearby protests can be examined by Pakistani authorities, as Americans have been detained to participate in the protest and post content on social media, which is considered a criticism of the Pakistani government.
Noting that US government personnel in the country need to use armed escort and armored vehicles to travel in parts, US citizens were advised by the departure of the state.

In addition, the Travel Advisory-Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and India with the Line of Control (LoC) increased “Level 4”-US citizens strictly warn the citizens of traveling to these two provinces and the Pakistan-Indian border region.
Highlighting that the murder and kidnapping efforts are common, the state department cited attacks against civilians, security forces as well as “active terrorist groups” against government offices.
The warning should be interpreted in the light of global terror index figures, which shows that the two provinces – which also share a border with neighboring Afghanistan – in 2024, Pakistan had more than 96 % of terrorist attacks and deaths in Pakistan.
