Jerusalem: US President Donald Trump praised the Gaza Peace Agreement on Monday, saying he said he ended a ‘long and tragic dream for both Palestinians and Israelis.
Addressing the Israeli parliament, Trump described the deal as a new Middle Eastern dawn.
He said, “After many years of war and endless threats for so many years, the sky is calm today, the guns are silent, the sirens are still, and the sun rises on a sacred land that is finally calm, a land and a region that is pleased with God,” he said.
He added: “For many families in this land, you know the same day of real peace … long and traumatic nightmares have finally ended.”
Meanwhile, several buses carrying Israeli prisoners released by Hamas in exchange for independent hostages arrived in Ghazan city Khan Yunus.
Thousands of people gathered to welcome the prisoners, celebrating and waving Palestinian flags in celebration.
Trump described the deal as an “incredible victory for Israel and the world” because he thanked the mediators of the Arab and Muslim world.
“I also express my great appreciation for all the nations of the Arab and Muslim world who came together to gather Hamas to liberate Hamas and send them home,” Trump said.
The US president also hoped for a peace deal with Iran after joining Israel to attack the country’s nuclear places earlier this year.
Trump said about Iran, “They got them from one side, on the other, and you know that if we can reconcile them, it will be great.”
However, Trump said the ball was in Tehran court to end any deal. “When you are, we are ready.”
He also defended the exit of an agreement tied up under former President Barack Obama in Iran’s nuclear program.
“I terminated the Iran nuclear deal and I was very proud to do so,” Trump said.
His address to the Israeli parliament was briefly disrupted as the leftist lawmaker was expelled.
“It was very effective,” Trump said after getting the MP out quickly. The US president, after a clear protest, ordered the deportation of the legislator over Kasif, a member of the Nestate staff.
During his speech, Trump demanded an apology from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces numerous judicial cases in which he is accused of corruption.
“Hey, I have an idea. Mr. President (Isaac Herzag), why don’t you apologize to him?” Trump said while addressing the Israeli parliament.
“Well, it was not in the speech, as you probably know. But I have to like this gentleman here, and it seems that it is so meaningful, you know.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the death toll from Israel’s war has increased to 67.869.
The ministry said, “The total tool of Israeli aggression has increased to 67,869 martyrs since October 7, 2023,” the ministry said, as it has continued to recover the bodies of those killed during the war.
Gaza Summit
After that day, Trump and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al -Sisi will preside over a summit of world leaders in Sharm El Sheikh.
After announcing Netanyahu’s expected attendance after the Egyptian presidency, the Israeli leader said he was unable to leave because the summit was in accordance with the Jewish leave.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that during the “historic” gathering, a document is expected to be signed in the Gaza Strip to end the war.
According to three diplomatic sources, the mediators, the United States, Egypt, Qatar and possibly will sign the guarantee during the Turkish summit.
Hamas will not be represented at the summit, though Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will participate.
These people are also expected to include UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, King Abdullah II of Jordan, British Prime Minister Kerr Star, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, French President Emmanuel Macron and Tape Erdogan regarding the approval of his Turkish counterpart.
The representation is expected from the European Union and the Arab League, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, India and Germany.
