The award -winning agency said Tuesday that the US -based scientists John Clark, Michelle Dorit and John Martins won the Nobel Prize for 2025 in Physics for “Experiences revealed in Quantum Physics”.
“This year, the Nobel Prize in Physics has provided opportunities to develop quantum technology, including quantum computers, and quantum sensors,” the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said in a statement.
Nobel conquerors conducted experiments in the mid -1980s with electronic circuits made of super -con
Discovery suppresses everyday technologies
Quantum technology is already present everywhere, with a daily example with transplants in computer microchips.
Clark told the Nobel Press Conference via telephone, “My feelings are that I am completely stunned. Of course, it has never happened in any way that it could be the basis of the Nobel Prize.”
“I’m talking on my cellphone and I suspect you are too, and one of the main reasons for working cellphone is because of all this work.”
The British -born Clark is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, located in the United States.
Born in Deveth, France, Yale University and California University, Santa Barbara, also a professor in the United States, where Martons is also a professor.
Martins, an American, led Google’s quantum artificial intelligence lab until he resigned in 2020.
“It is amazing that the ancient quantum mechanics permanently offer a new surprise,” said Helle Ericson, the chair of the Nobel Committee for Physics. This is very useful, because quantum mechanics is the basis of all digital technology.
This week a second Nobel Prize of Physics
The Nobel Physics award is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and includes a reward amount that includes a total of 11 million Swedish crowns ($ 1.2 million), which are combined with the winners, as often as it is.
The Nobel Prizes were established by the will of Alfred Noble, who collected a fortune with the invention of ammunition. Since 1901, with occasional intervention, rewards have recognized the annual achievements in science, literature and peace. Economics were increasing later.
Nobel’s will mentioned physics was the first category, which potentially reflects the importance of the field during its time. Today, the Nobel Prize in Physics is widely regarded as the most famous award for discipline.
The winners of the Nobel Physics award include some influential figures in science history, such as Albert Einstein, Perry and Mary Curi, Max Planck and Nels Bohr, who are a leader of the Quantum Theory.
Last year’s prize was won by American scientist John Hopfield and British Canada’s Jeffrey Hunton for success in machine learning, which promoted artificial intelligence, which both have also expressed concern.
In view of the tradition, physics is the second Nobel to be given this week, after which two Americans and a Japanese scientists won the Medicine award to achieve successes in understanding the immune system. Chemistry award is due to be next, Wednesday.
Science, literature and economics are presented by the Swedish king on December 10 at a ceremony at the Stockholm, on the occasion of the anniversary of Alfred Noble’s death, followed by a banquet in the city hall.
The Peace Prize, which will be announced on Friday, has been given at a separate event in Oslo.
