Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday that the government and the Awami Action Committee (AAC) have finalized a draft agreement, which is under consideration from both sides and is expected to be signed soon.
Addressing the Government Minister of the Government of the Committee, the Geo News Program ‘today, Shahbaz Khanzada’s Seth’ has been said that the agreement will be signed soon, in which a victory will be declared for the people of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and democracy.
He said, “A permanent committee has been constituted under the supervision of the Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Aamir Muqim.
Responding to a question regarding the demand for the elimination of reserved seats for the Action Committee’s refugees, Iqbal said that a committee of constitutional experts would be constituted, which would review all aspects and decide.
“Everyone will be accepted after the review,” he said, adding that this is a constitutional matter and “there will be no rush.”
The times of his statement came after the second round of talks between the Awami Action Committee and the government’s appointed negotiation team in Muzaffarabad.
The talks resumed between the delegation sent on the direction of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the representatives of the Public Action Committee shortly after Friday prayers.
The Action Committee is organizing a protest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), which became violent and claimed the lives of at least nine people, three of them were policemen, and more than 100 were injured.
In the region, the state capital, Muzaffarabad, is witnessing a strong shutdown and a wheel strike between law enforcement and workers.
The JKAAC issued a 38 -point charter of demands, which eliminated 12 specific seats for refugees and the “privileges of the elite” were overturned.
The participants of the government team included Federal Ministers Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Aamir Mukkam, and Ahsan Iqbal, while Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rana Sanaullah, and others were also present.
The basic members of the Action Committee, including Sardar Masood Khan and Sardar Yousuf, participated in the discussions.
Members of the Action Committee called for the restoration of Internet services, and officials said that the remaining demands would be finalized during the talks.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Chaudhry said that he fully supports the rights of the people of Kashmir and said that most of the decisions made about being in the public interest have already accepted the demands.
He added that constitutional amendments are needed for some residual requests and that is why they are subject to further discussion.
Chaudhry emphasized that violence is not a solution and expressed the hope that the Action Committee will resolve the residual issues through peaceful dialogue.
Law Minister Nazir Tarar focused on legal and constitutional reservations associated with the talks.
He pointed out that voters in the 12 constituencies allocated for the AJK start from Kashmir, that their commitment to Kashmir remains intact despite being displaced, and no change should suddenly end these relations.
He emphasized the need for a comprehensive constitutional package and extensive political consensus, adding all the leadership of Kashmir.
Tarar warned against constitutional amendments and hurrying decisions regarding constitutional amendments and fundamental rights, noting several legal complications and potential social and political results.
He observed that there was no supply of referendum in the Kashmir constitution and he argued that quick measures could harm the purpose of Kashmir.
