Colombo: Pakistan and India will face today in a very expected match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Earlier, Deojit Sakia, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), had said that his upcoming confrontation at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 would not change the policy about Pakistan.
In an interview to the BBC, the BCCI secretary has said that there is no assurance that Indian players will hand over their Pakistani counterparts during their upcoming game in Colombo on October 5.

His comments have come in the backdrop of India’s controversial and widespread condemnation of India during the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, where the men’s team refused to hand over Pakistani players and made political statements during the afternoon celebrations and press conferences.
India also refused to submit the winner’s trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi, who also served as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
‘Focus on the game completely’
Addressing a person before the match on Saturday, Pakistan Women’s Cricket Captain Fatima Sana said his team was fully focused on the game.
