The controversial match referee Andy Pukraft has apologized to Pakistan, which described the defeat with India as the result of a “misunderstanding”.
In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the development and said that the match referee Pokraft has apologized to the Pakistan cricket team manager and captain.
He said, “Pokraft termed the September 14 incident as a result of misunderstanding and apologized,” he said, adding that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has agreed to investigate the violation of the code of conduct.
Addressing a press conference after the referee’s apology, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi urged the nation to support the team. He added that the board has requested the ICC to investigate the violations during the Pakistan India match.
Naqvi said he also consulted with former PCB chairman Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja on the matter. He remarked, “I thank Allah that the honor of Pakistan has been maintained.”
Former chairman Sethi reiterated that the PCB’s permanent stance has been that politics should not be brought into the game. His successor, Raja, termed development a victory for Pakistan, and emphasized that the team now proves itself through performance.
Raja said, “Cricket should remain cricket and it should not be transformed into a political platform. He emphasized that any traumatic sentiments should be left behind and all focus should be attracted to performance in the field.
Raja also criticized Pukraft, alleging that he had been a “fixed referee” for the Indian team, and indicating that Pacific had worked in more than 90 matches in India.
After the apology, Pakistan Captain Agha joined the United Arab Emirates captain Mohammad Wasim on the pitch for the toss.
Pakistan cricket team reached Dubai International Cricket Stadium on the direction of PCB Chairman Naqvi. The squad initially asked to stay in his hotel, eventually left after clearance from the board.
After clearance from the cricket board, national cricketers were seen riding a team in high emotions.
PCB Advisor Aamir Mir later confirmed that the match referee Andy Pikraft was delayed by an hour between a row. The board announced that the match will start at 8:30 pm (PST), with the toss to schedule for 8pm.
The controversy was born on September 14 by the India -India clash, when the two captains left the traditional hands on the toss – a mistake directed by PRAFT – the tension between the PCB and the match referee.
PCB second letter to ICC
Earlier, sources said that the PCB had submitted another letter to the ICC, after which it refused to accept the demand for the abolition of the Asia Cup 2025.
Taking a strong stand on the matter, the PCB has rejected the ICC’s decision not to take action against the match referee.
According to sources, the board has refused to play the matches under the supervision of the Pokraft and if its demands are not met then it stands on its decision to boycott the matches.
In addition, the PCB has merely declared the ICC inquiry against the match referee, and emphasized that neither all aspects have been investigated or contacted.
In its letter, the PCB has said that Pakistan will be willing to play after resolving all its reservations, and has been formally announced to accept the demand.
Highlighting the growing problems of the ICC, sources said that the cricketing authority has no choice but to remove the umpire from Pakistani matches after Pakistan’s tough stand.
Sources also said that PCB has not received any response from the ICC so far.
Imprisonment Conflict
Not only did the Indian captain saved the toss from the handshake, but he repeated it even after the match ended, when the players of the opposing teams have to hand over according to the cricketing tradition.
While the Indian players congratulated each other on the Dougout after the match, they refrained from admitting or withdrawing from the Pakistani team.
Pakistani players stood up expecting traditional hands, just to retreat the Indian team and close the doors of the dressing room.
Later, India’s winner captain, Surya Kumar, defended his team’s decision not to hand over Pakistan’s players, saying it had been aligned with his government and the cricket board.
The move also faced a strong reaction from the cricketing brother, as well as Mohsin Naqvi, who is the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and is also the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha not only refused to attend a post -offer ceremony, which broke the broadcast principles, where the captains usually share their views. Lack of traditional hands.
