Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan and India are bound to live together, and India has to decide whether to suffer enmity or to build good relations.
Addressing a full hall of Pakistanis abroad in London, Prime Minister Shahbaz spoke on Pakistan’s development, global crisis and recent achievements in the country.
“Any dialogue with India should be fair,” he said and reminded the audience that Pakistan and India fought four wars, which cost billions of dollars.
“The money should have been spent on improving the lives of schools, hospitals, roads and ordinary citizens,” he said, emphasizing that relations with India cannot move forward without resolving the Kashmir issue.
He added, “The war between Pakistan and India should be spent on the development and prosperity of the people who spend billions of dollars.” [with India] Has arrived Now we want peace. “
These remarks will be given against the backdrop of a recent military conflict between two nuclear weapons -equipped neighbors in May following India’s baseless missile attacks on Pakistani territory targets in May 2025.
The Pakistan Army launched a retaliation called Bonyan Um-Marsus (Iron Wall) to counter Indian aggression, which New Delhi allegedly responded to a tourist attack on Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Ijak) Pahalgam in April.
The two countries suffered losses of lives and property, while the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully defended the country’s territorial integrity and dropped six Indian fighter jets, including expensive French aircraft Rafael.
The 87 -hour dispute, which raised concerns about the nuclear war between the two countries, eventually ended in the ceasefire by the United States.
Addressing the program, Premier expressed his commitment that the blood of millions of Kashmiris will not be bleeding.
Referring to international crises, he talked about Gaza, where more than 64,000 Palestinians have died, saying that the region is permanently connected, whether people like it or not.
He once again emphasized that Pakistan wants to talk to India, but only on equal terms. He said that justice and respect would have to guide any dialogue.
During his address, the Prime Minister also touched Operation Bonyan Um-Marsus, the economy, and Pakistan’s diplomatic relations.
Repeating Pakistan’s stance that it had nothing to do with the Phalgam incident, the Prime Minister remembered that the country had offered a transparent investigation to New Delhi.
However, despite Islamabad’s offer, New Delhi attacked May 6 and killed 54 people and mosques.
“Our air force shot the enemy planes,” he said. The enemy knew his fate within a few hours. “
He added that the recent achievements of Pakistan have strengthened the country’s global stance, which is a matter of pride for all citizens.
Extending the contribution and importance of Pakistani Daspura, the Prime Minister praised him as the country’s “great ambassador”.
“You [overseas Pakistanis] He said that Pakistan had sent $ 38 billion, “he highlighted that the country’s economy could not develop without remittances sent by the Pakistani community abroad.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also addressed the program and termed remittances sent by Pakistanis abroad as a “lifeline” for the country.
Meanwhile, addressing the occasion, DPM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised Prime Minister Shahbaz’s team for working day and night so that the country could be removed from the riot.
“Inflation has reached 5 %, interest rates have reached 11 %,” said Dar.
Recalling that when the present government came to power, it was said that the country would continue to end, however, the administration strengthened the economy by hard work.
The DPM said, “Pakistan emerged diplomatically on the global map with a new identity,” he said, adding that the country gave India a proper response in the May dispute.
