The United States on Monday announced a “framework” agreement with China to resolve its dispute against T -Tawk, as there is a deadline for selling a Chinese -owned app or facing US ban.
In a social media post, US President Donald Trump said – directly without the name of social media giant – that a “contract with a specific company that young people in our country want to save a lot. They will be very happy!”
Trump added on his truth social network that he will talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Basant announced the agreement with the Chinese deputy Premier Hei Lang on the second day, which includes talks about the US -China’s largest trade dispute.
“We have a framework for the Takotok Agreement,” Basant told reporters.
Teltok is owned by China -based Internet company Biteson.
A day before the inauguration of US President Donald Trump on January 20, a ticket sale or a national security -based ban was enforced.
But the Republican, whose 2024 election campaigns relied heavily on social media and who has said that he is fond of telt, banned the pause.
In mid -June, Trump extended a deadline of the popular video sharing app to 90 days to find a non -Chinese buyer or ban the United States. The reason for this extension is to end on Wednesday.
Although Trump had long supported the ban or discrimination, he changed his position and vowed to defend the platform – which is proud of nearly two billion global consumers – after believing that he helped gain the support of young voters in the November elections.
The warfare
The Beijing Ministry of Commerce on Friday called on Washington to work with China on the basis of mutual respect and equal consultation, to resolve each other’s concerns through dialogue and find a solution to the problem.
The talks in Madrid also cover the risk of standing rates on Trump’s Chinese imports.
In his social position on Monday, Trump said the meeting in Europe “is going very well!” And added: “The relationship is very strong !!!”
Earlier this year, commercial tensions increased sharply, with the tight for Tate tariff triple digits and snoring supply supply chains.
Later, the two governments agreed to reduce their worth of taxes, the United States imposed 30 % duties on import of Chinese goods and China killed US products with 10 % Levi, but temporarily expires in November.
Washington has accused Beijing of being accused of violating its contract and approving a slow -moving export license for rare lands.
China is the world’s largest producer of rare lands, used to make magnets necessary for automotive, electronics and defense industries.
NVIDIA investigation
China launched two investigations in the American semidency sector on Saturday.
Its Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that Beijing launched an anti -dumping investigation into some integration circuit chips, which began in the United States.
The ministry also said in a separate statement that it would launch an investigation whether the United States had discriminated against the Chinese chip sector.
And on Monday, China said an investigation revealed that the American chip’s giant Nvidia had eliminated the country’s dissenting rules, and promised an additional investigation.
The statement did not provide further details about NVIDIA’s alleged legal violations or further investigations.
BEIJING – who announced an investigation in December – is currently engaged in a fierce competition with the United States to supremacy in the main semoditors’ field.
Top diplomats and defense chiefs from both countries made back -to -back phone calls last week, whose analysts said they could mark a step towards a meeting between Trump and XI.
Trump said in August that he expects to visit China this year or later, saying that economic relations between the two countries have improved.
