Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday signed an important strategic bilateral defense agreement, raising their long -standing relations in the security partnership.
“The agreement, which reflects the joint commitment of the two countries to enhance their security and to achieve security and peace in the region and the world, aims to promote defense cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen any aggression against any aggression against any aggression.
Experts have praised the deal, which, a few days after Israel launched a strike against Qatar, targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, which gave rise to anger between Muslim countries and world leaders.
‘Strategic Win’
Senior journalist Hameed Mir noted that the joint statement shows that the deal is important. He said that with this agreement, keeping in view the situation in the Middle East, it shows that Pakistan has emerged as a new force that can work not only with the Middle East countries, but also with the South Asians, to protect them against India and Israel.
The journalist noted, “It is expected that two more countries will sign similar agreements with Pakistan. He explained that the latest situation shows that even US bases are not safe from Israel. He said it was a major political change.
“Earlier, it was believed that the United States was standing with its allies, but after Donald Trump, it is no longer. Israel has also attacked US allies.”
Mir added that the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia does not have direct relations with the United States, but it is against Israel, which is a friend of India’s Arc Real India. “This is also a strategic win for Pakistan, but at the same time, it is a challenge for Pakistan to meet Saudi Arabia’s expectations.”
‘Historical’
Senior anchor Shahzad Iqbal told Geo News that the signing of the agreement was “huge”, he noted, saying that despite the close ties between the two, the agreement is that any aggression is a process of aggression on another.
He said both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have taken action after Israel’s actions against Qatar, hoping that more countries can sign agreements with Islamabad. “Pakistan has already made it clear that it will not take any aggression against India, which can be.”
He said that Pakistan is also important as a nuclear nation. Iqbal added that Pakistan also needs to secure its borders with Afghanistan and added that the country’s partners should also see how they can help Islamabad in this regard.
Pakistan’s ‘supremacy’
International Relations expert Huma Baqai told Geo.TV that this was an exciting development, which would have a long -term impact on the power matrix of both South Asia and the Middle East.
“The clear dimension is Saudi Arabia, not just to rely on the US security umbrella, and go into a defense agreement with Pakistan, but perhaps a deep sinking is needed. The 11 -hour war established the supremacy of Pakistan and China, and it probably mobilized it.”
“For now, it can be seen as a positive development, which will definitely affect the country’s economy. It identifies a new alliance in changing global discipline and formation. It can also have more gulf states and the domino influence of the Arab states in search of such alliance.”
‘The most trusted partner’
Defense analyst Sohail Muhammad Ali has termed the agreement a “historic development”, which has called it the most important defense agreement in Pakistan’s history.
He noted that while Pakistan has previously been part of the US -led agreements and alliances, the new agreement stands for a ban, which presents any aggression against the two countries as an attack on both.
Ali said that the deal has historical significance not only for Pakistan but also for South Asia and the wider Islamic world.
Highlighting its importance, he pointed to three important aspects: the current global environment that is marked by unilateral aggression, violations of international law, and violations of state sovereignty.
He added that the agreement signed only two days after an unusual meeting in Doha, which reflects the international acknowledgment of Pakistan’s defense capability under the leadership of Army Chief General Asim Munir, especially in the context of Pakistan’s recent victory against India.
According to Ali, the agreement confirms Saudi Arabia’s confidence in Pakistan as its trusted partner and recognizes Pakistan as the most capable Muslim force to promote peace and stability in South Asia and the Middle East. He said that the agreement has effectively translated Pakistan -interest relations into a formal commitment to security.
‘Major’
Meanwhile, Anchor Person Shah Zeb Khanzada has described the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a “major development”, which has been emphasized that the language of the joint statement is significant.
He noted that while Pakistan has long promised to play its role in ensuring Saudi Arabia’s security, mutual relations. Adding a clause on the sake of a country – declaring any aggression against one country as aggression against both – adds new weight to the relationship.
Khanzada said that this statement effectively means that if Pakistan, including India, faces aggression, Saudi Arabia will stand with it.
They linked development to recent regional events, including Doha Summit and Israeli strikes, which they argued, intensifying the rush of Arab countries to consider joint defense measures.
Referring to Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s remarks, Khanzada said that the Arab states have rapidly believed that Israel cannot stop its aggression, indicating the need for an integrated security project.
‘New security mentality’
Former Ambassador Azaz Chaudhry has termed it a “major development”, saying it reflects a new mentality of security in the Arab world after Israeli invasion of the region.
He said the agreement came in the wake of the Israeli strike at Qatar and the resulting Doha summit, which has led to the Arab states deeply concerned about regional security. Chaudhry remarked, “If Qatar can be attacked, others can be,” Chaudhry gave remarks, adding that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” ideology has increased regional anxiety.
Against this background, Chaudhry noted, Saudi Arabia turned to his “very sincere friend” Pakistan, which has historically supported the kingdom. He emphasized that there was defense cooperation before, this clause has declared any aggression against a country as an unusual step in bilateral relations.
Chaudhry added that after Marka Haqur, regional comments about Pakistan have changed significantly, many countries now see it as the strongest force in the region.
‘Detards’
Foreign Affairs Professor Dr. Noshin Wasi said a new defense agreement must be seen in the context of changing regional dynamics.
