The country marked the 60th defense and martyrdom day with a strong ceremony and renewed promises to protect the country’s sovereignty, in which civil and military leadership respect the courage of martyrs, Ghazi and citizens whose sacrifices have made the basis of national defense.
The day, which was favorable with the blessed opportunity of Eid Milad-Nabi (SAW), began with a 31 gun salute in the federal capital.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Ni (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff. General Sahair Shamshad Mirza, Ni, Ni (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC); Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Ni, Ni (M), Chief of Navy Staff. And Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sudhu, Ni (M), HJ, who is the chief of the air staff, attracted this tribute to the heroes of the country.
In his message, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that September 6 is a sign of the Pakistani nation’s flawless commitment and unprecedented spirit.
“On this historic day, our brave soldiers, with the support of the nation, stood like an unintentional wall against clear aggression, which failed the enemy’s blasphemous design to make weapons and numbers much better. The brave bravery and sacrifice achieved an unprecedented message on the sand of time:” It has never been defeated. “
The ISPR added that the fear of the fearless hero continues to affect the future generations and their legacy will live forever. The armed forces also expressed their commitment to help the victims of the floods across Pakistan and promised a “appropriate and decisive response” to any attempt to affect the peace earned peace, confirming their commitment to defend the country against any threat.
‘A wonderful chapter’
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message from presidency, called September 6 a “wonderful chapter” in the history of Pakistan. He paid rich tributes to the brave soldiers and flexible citizens who, with unprecedented beliefs and unprecedented courage, defended the nation’s borders.
The President highlighted the importance of this year’s defensive day in light of the recent operation “Bonyan Um-Marsus”, which took place in May 2025. “Just as our brave forces showed extraordinary bravery and dedication in 1965, our sons once again proved their unique bravery during this year’s operation.”
He praised the Pakistan Army’s professional virtues, war preparations, and multilateral capabilities, which described the defense of the nation as “irreparable” and is based on the eternal spirit of its people. As the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, he reaffirmed his commitment to modernize Pakistan’s defense capabilities and called for modern risks such as hybrid warfare, ineffective information and psychological operations.
President Zardari urged all the pillars of the state, especially the youth, to be vigilant, united and flexible against developing challenges. He confirmed Pakistan’s principle stance on Kashmir and Palestine, calling Kashmir the main cause of regional instability and condemning the genocide of Israeli atrocities. It demanded a fair solution to Kashmir and an independent Palestinian state with Alkos al -Sharif as its capital.
He concluded, “Let us be steadfast, brave and united so that the sacrifices of our martyrs are honored, our defense is unbeaten, and we bring a strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan to our future generations.”
‘Sign of Dare’ ‘
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the martyrs and Ghazi, calling it a “symbol of courage, unity and resilience”. He remembered how Pakistan’s armed forces, with the full support of the people, thwarted the enemy’s aggression in 1965 and proved the nation’s ability to defend its independence and integrity.
The Prime Minister recently praised the military, navy and air force for his unprecedented professionalism and combat skills under the strategic leadership of Kos Field Marshal Munir, highlighting the “Operation Bonean Um-Marsus, Marcus-Haq”. He said that the courage of martyrs and veterans of war will continue to affect generations.
Prime Minister Shahbaz confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and constructive engagement but warned against “continuous Indian provocations and ignoring regional dynamics”. He called for stabilizing defense capabilities and fully fighting the terrorist and proxy war organized by foreigners.
Expressing solidarity with the people of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Prime Minister reiterated his irresponsible support for his struggle for self -determination and strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine, and called for humanitarian aid.
The Prime Minister emphasized that economic stability is essential for strong defense and urged the nation to go beyond personal differences for sustainable prosperity and self -reliance.
He said, “On the day of this defense and martyrdom, let us renew our commitment to the everlasting principles of faith, unity and discipline considered by the Prime Minister, and work together for a safe, united and prosperous Pakistan.
