Along with the glitter and glam that define both Pakistan's fashion industry and the designer himself, it seems that Nomi Ansari – who comes across as a showman through and through - would be the perfect person to suggest a structure for peer approval on fashion ops.

Even when she was just starting out, Noomi Ansari knew exactly who she was, and what mark she wanted to make on fashion and style. He may have once created an all-black collection to show that he could design and cut a good outfit without color or embellishment, but his strength – and heart – lay with bright pieces. is that which can only induce happiness. Take for example the luscious, exquisite creations on stage at LSA 2021, or the collection he recently showed at Dubai Fashion Week, “a capsule collection,” he explains, “because we’re in the middle of wedding season. Couldn’t do much, there was a lot going on.”
Although he missed the press conference, the pre-party and any other events leading up to the show, Ansari feels that making the time to attend his venue was worth it. Her collection, consisting of eight womenswear and six menswear, was well received.
“There were people coming from all over, and I thought to myself, ‘Why not do something different, which is my signature style.’
“So we did this very playful collection; a kaleidoscope of color and texture and sequins and crystals. I love being able to play with different elements and that’s what we showed: our signature menswear, which was very well received, and Ken The cane style lehenga choli we are famous for.”
“It was really good,” he says. The team behind the show reached out to Ansari after thorough research, and they didn’t mind collaborating during one of the busiest times of the year, as all the help and consideration extended to them. “The platform was amazing. It had some designers from Lebanon, India, Dubai and some people from the national team. Good audience, amazing response.
Once on the ground, he found that everything worked extremely smoothly, making the entire showing process stress-free.
“The choreographer was great to us. He asked me if I was okay with the opening and closing, and within a day, we figured out the walk and the music. All the little details,” he says. “We did the backgrounds, the LEDs, and the artwork. The press was apparently super excited. We were constantly reposting things on all our social media platforms for the next 48 hours.
While Noomi Ansari has always had her own international market, after her time in the local industry, she hopes to hold it to the same standards found on international fashion runways. His latest experience in Dubai has made it clear to him what he would like to see at shows back home.
“The industry has grown,” he says, “it’s matured. Our sensibilities have evolved. I believe it may be time to really take the next steps in other areas.”
In Noomi Ansari’s opinion, what can be controlled backstage is keeping everything on the production line.
“[At the Dubai Fashion Week] The look created for the models was individual to my collection. And so it was the same for all models. Everyone had the same make-up, the same hair, the same everything – and the same for the boys,” he says.
“They sat in one seat – what their makeup was. Sat in the next chair – had their hair done. Got to the next – put flowers in their hair. Everyone looked fantastic, and 40 minutes. I got ready.
Over the years, Ansari has observed that excitement backstage can quickly turn to anxiety and irritability.
“Before a show, there’s always nervous energy,” he explains. “Emotions run high, so what you want is to set standards to make the whole process smooth.”
It seems that this is not entirely impossible: these are people who are going to present themselves to what can only be described as a very sophisticated audience with many opinions, and Thus models will want to look their best at any stage of their career. feet forward. And it seems that Noomi Ansari – who comes across as a showman – would be the perfect person to carry this vision forward.
“You know what my style is — and it’s personal: I love embellishment and bling and sparkle and layering, and that’s what brings it all together. Once you combine those elements, then Only you will get the real Noomi Ansari.
And we’re sure his approach, at once playful and very organized, will be interesting to see translated into the layout of a real show.
