The hustle and bustle, noise and commotion of most salons and skin care institutes can be annoying, especially for someone who is looking for a calm and new life experience. Most places you’ll run into the sights and sounds of women of all shapes and sizes, chattering over hair dryers, noise machines, loud music and more. The scent that greets you will be a combination of hair dye chemicals, silicone products and the odd candle here and there, all aimed at controlling the smell.

However, the CACI Center in Karachi is a small oasis away from the maddening crowds. Referred by a friend, I thought I’d check out this top secret when I needed a facial. I booked my appointment and met and consulted with a qualified and trained cosmetologist who asked in detail about my skin before designing a custom facial for me. After 40, I needed hydration, anti-aging, firming and lifting that could be achieved in the hands of experienced professionals and updated machines. We walked upstairs to the treatment rooms as soothing music played in the background, making the hour or so already a pleasant experience.
