"The quest for touchable skin is never ending and with better technology and understanding comes the ability to create skin that looks more and more like you just had a facial," Bina shares. "Understanding where, how and with what to highlight is an ever evolving process and how to make it non greasy in the summer is the real key. I often apply it with a mattifying spray to let it glow but not shine." According to her, in the summer season it is really important to take it easy with the highlighters and illuminating sprays.

The most celebrated season, wedding season is in full swing (which is, in fact, for most of the year), which means that trends and style guides – especially for brides – are impeccably current. Must be updated in stages. Every bride wants to look her best on her big day, and whether that means working with a classic, timeless look or the latest trends (yes, they change), her look needs to be carefully thought out. is
Choosing the ideal look can be a bit difficult for most brides, mainly because there are endless trends that can be found online.
To offer some solutions to what can be mind-boggling decisions, Instep reached out to Bina Khan, who has been working professionally for the past 23 years. According to the beautician, her biggest teacher wasn’t a video, but actually the first book she got from American makeup artist Kevin O’Quinn, when she was 20 years old. Here Bina Khan shares all the bridal beauty inspo you need this festive season.
Glowing skin
“The quest for touchable skin is never-ending and with better technology and understanding comes the ability to create skin that looks more and more like you just had a facial,” shares Bina. “Understanding where, how and what to highlight is an evolving process and how to make it non-greasy in the summer is the real key. I often set it with a shine spray to let it shine. But not by shining.” According to her, it’s important to take it easy during the summer season with highlighters and light-diffusing sprays.
Halo Eye Technique
“When I first started using glitter about ten years ago, I always thought of it as a form of henna, because it’s so festive. However, girls also use it on their (important) wedding days. I’ve been working hard to use another technique that will hopefully capture people’s imaginations, and that’s the halo-eye technique for a different kind of texture. It requires a lot of caution but bold use and Gradation of colors to create that perfect 3D effect,” says Bina, adding that she really enjoys getting numerous requests for this look.
3D lips
The fact is that the right lip color not only instantly brightens your complexion, but adding that pop of color can also lift your mood. When it comes to choosing the best lip shade for a special occasion like a wedding, a makeup artist has to consider many factors such as the color of the dress and so on. Talking about the lipstick shades that are perfect for brides, Bina revealed, “I’ve always been obsessed with mixing lipsticks but now I religiously create every shade and not just a few. Mix good ingredients but I use minimal. 3 Blends to Create a Delicate Ombre I love the 3D eye but I also love the smile, the 3D lips, a trick I learned from studying the work of the great master Kevin Aucoin.”
Super fluffy eyelashes
“I think it’s really important to change up your lashes with each look. I often cut lashes and use different pieces from several sets to create the look we’re trying to create. Use small pieces to create a sharp look. Although I like to control the size of my pieces, I sometimes mix with ready-made lashes.”
70s inspired hairstyles
As for the bridal hair, Bina says, “We always recreated the ’70s desi hair. I think it was the softest, prettiest version of bridal hair. We actually loved the style. Imitating when my mother used to wear it.These days I’m glad to see that some desi celebrity weddings have inspired people with simple hair and moved away from the big, messy style. A fan of soft, romantic hair in popular I am.”
