Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has come down hard on India, claiming that “there is no place for war in a nuclear environment,” and warning that Pakistan’s battle-hardened military would respond better than any initiator expected if hostilities did arise.
Kose, who was addressing a pass-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul, highlighted the country’s military prowess, saying that the Pakistan Army has fought in the conventional domain for more than two decades, which has successfully demonstrated its capabilities in conventional domains as well as sharpening its capabilities.
The Field Marshal attended the passing out parade of 152nd PMA Long Course, 37th Technical Graduate Course, 71st Integrated Course, and 26th Lady Cadet Course as Chief Guest.
The COAS added, “If a fresh wave of hostilities is triggered, Pakistan will respond far beyond the initiators’ expectations. With less separation between combat and communication zones, the reach and lethality of our weapon systems will dispel India’s illusion of geographic scope.”
He celebrated the country’s recent victory against India, and said that Pakistan had once again emerged victorious against a treacherous enemy, with a sign of strategic blindness and sophistication about its misguided nefarious ambitions.
Referring to the military operations in May, he said that Operation Bunyan-i-Marsus has further strengthened public confidence in the capability and capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces.
The army chief added that the armed forces have neutralized all threats with remarkable professionalism. Koz said Pakistan has demonstrated its readiness and “willingness to defend the country by deploying advanced aircraft such as the Rafales such as the S-400 targeting multiple bases, and exhibiting multi-domain warfare capabilities”.
‘Not an inch of holy land will be lost’
Field Marshal Munir criticized India’s eagerness to judge guilt, avoid impartial investigations and produce self-made evidence to point out the politicization of terror for the interests of the ruling government.
“Pakistan received deep respect and admiration from Pakistan and the international community for its legitimacy and clear victory against a numerically superior opponent.
“Internally, it has further united the nation and strengthened its resolve to defend against any threat, be it external or internal. It has strengthened confidence, especially among the youth, that Pakistan’s armed forces are an integral element of national strength and are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Expressing confidence in the nation’s unity and determination, he said: “With the blessings of Allah and the commitment to national resolve, people of all colors and shades, age, sex, race, ethnicity or creed are strong and as tough as a steel wall.”
This, he added, led to a new spirit of patriotism and national enthusiasm that prevailed across the length and breadth of Pakistan.
“Let me assure the nation that with the help and mercy of Allah, and with the support of the people, we will not lose an inch of the holy land, and from here on you will all contribute to the same cause,” he said.
Kos Munir proudly salutes the people of Pakistan, every soldier, sailor, airman, brave man, woman, child and old who laid down their lives in testing times, and Ghazis who fought with utmost conviction to defend the motherland at all costs.
‘Every state proxy in India will be dusted’.
Field Marshal Munir said that the law enforcement agencies, with the help of the people of Pakistan, especially the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, will definitely defeat the menace of India-backed terrorism.
“Like our victory in the traditional domain, every state proxy of our neighbor will be raised in the dust, God willing. As we stand against a huge adversary, we will never bow down to a handful of misguided terrorists who have an interpretation of Islam,” he said.
Paying tribute to the people of Pakistan and the country’s armed forces, the Army chief said: “I proudly salute every soldier, sailor, airman, brave man, woman, child, and old man who laid down their lives in testing times, along with Ghazi who was totally imprisoned to defend the motherland at all costs.”
“Our testimony [martyrs]who have sacrificed for the creation and subsequent preservation of this great country, deserve recognition. We have deep respect for the martyrs and their families, because of whom we enjoy freedom and independence.
Addressing the cadets, he said: “You are being commissioned from one of the best armies in the world, second to none. The bond between the people of Pakistan and the armed forces is unshakable.”
The Taliban government must rein in the Indian-backed proxies
Following heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, COAS Field Marshal Munir issued a stern call to the Taliban government, urging it to take swift and immediate action against terrorist proxies using Afghan soil to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
He urged the people of Afghanistan to choose “mutual peace and security over violence”. He further said that the Taliban government in Kabul should take decisive action against the militants operating from its soil for terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Koz’s remarks came a day after a temporary ceasefire was extended between Pakistan and Afghanistan, after intense fighting left dozens and hundreds injured.
