Pakistani runners from around the world presented impressive performances in 2025 Chicago marathon – one of the World World Marathon Majers – which attracted more than 53,000 participants this year.
The race presented a dynamic contingent of Pakistani athletes, including participants from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, as well as dual citizens and immigrants from the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway and the Gulf region, including 42.195 km from Chicago.
Leading the Pakistani contingent, Syed Ali Hamza, who was a Pakistani American based in Vilnova, Pennsylvania, who completed the race in two hours, 55 minutes and 14 seconds, making it the fastest Pakistani final. Among those who traveled from Pakistan, one of the country’s top marathon runners, Faisal Shafi, from Karachi, stood up with the time of 3:18:52, which made him the fastest runner in Pakistan this year. Another highlight of Pakistan was Dania Ali of Karachi, who increased its global marathon in Chicago. Training on the streets of Karachi, he obtained his personal record with the time of 4:45:07, which identified a significant milestone in his traveling journey.
