Experts have predicted that the Nobel Prize for this year, which will be announced on Thursday, will be given to the Western male author. The prediction is made after South Korean author Han Kong’s win last year, becoming the first Asian woman to receive the award.
This year, giving a reward to another woman will first mark the historical mark, as the award never goes to female authors in the years in a row. Since the beginning of the award in 1901, women have been significantly featured among awardees, only 18 out of 121 are winners.
But literary critics in the Stockholm told AFP that he expects a Western man to get his approval this year, he has also reported Australian Gerald Moore, Romania’s Marsia Cartarco, Hungary’s Laszlo Kraznarurkai and Peter Nadas as well as Swiss Post.
In the meantime, with Morana and Kraznahirkai, India’s Amito Ghosh has the lowest difficulties on the batting sites, whose name was gone just two days before the announcement.
The 18 -member Swedish Academy, which awarded the award, insists that it does not take into account gender, nationality or language.
But “Even if they say that they don’t think about representation, you can still see this list (past rewarders) and see that this is a matter of something, okay, this year was a European, now we can look a little ahead. And now we go back to Europe this year.
After the #Metoo scandal that shakes the academy in 2018, every other award -winning woman, who recommends trying to correct past mistakes and improve gender imbalance.
‘Weird masterpiece’
Borne Women, the Culture Editor of the Swedish Paper of Reference Dodge Dodge, told AFP that he believes this year’s winner will be a man of “Anglo -Saxon, from the German or French language”.
He said, Christian Craft, a 58 -year -old German -based modern author who writes about pop culture and consumerism, is a favorite in literary circles.
“Many members of the Swedish Academy were present at this year’s Gotanburg book fair, which was held a few weeks before the Nobel Declaration, and were sitting in the front row during their program,” Women said.
“And this is generally a sure sign,” he said, adding that this happened at the same time when Austrian playwright Elfred Jelnik won the award in 2004.
Australia’s Gerald Morin is to get a lot of attention from another writer in the run -up this year.
Born in Melbourne in 1939, his work draws a lot to his life experiences.
His novel “The Plains” (1982) is included in the culture of Australian landlords, described by New York as a “strange masterpiece” that feels more like a dream than a book.
“The question is whether he will answer the phone (when the academy calls), I do not know that he has anyone too,” Sweden’s second most important daily, Swanka Doug Bloodet’s literary critic, Josephine de Gregorio made fun.
“He never leaves Australia. He lives in rural areas, he does not make himself more accessible,” he said.
“I hope he will win, I want more and more people to discover his amazing work,” said De Gregorio said.
The Australian ancestor Alexis Wright is also mentioned.
‘Undeniable’
Other names that regularly go round are antigovan -American author Jamaica Concad, Canada’s Ann Carson, Chile’s Raul Zureta, and Argentina’s Caesar Era.
Kaltag told AFP that the last South American was Peru’s Mario Vargas Lolosa in 2010, and could be owed to the region.
He also mentioned Mexican authors Christina Rowera Garza and Fernanda Melchor.
Without sealing the views of the public shortlist and prize committee for 50 years, it is always difficult to predict how the academy is inclined.
It has a surprise to a wide range of public unknown to shed light on unknown authors, in which Women noted that it was known as being “openly common elite, artistic”.
“Writers like Han Kong were unimaginable five or six years ago,” he said, adding that he was well -established internationally and in only 53, while earlier the academy respected old men.
The winner of 2025, who will check $ 1.2 million at home, will be announced on Thursday at 1:00 pm (1100 GMT).
