US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsith criticized “fat generals” and diversity measures, which led to he said that the military caused decades of lack of decades and told a rare gathering of commanders on Tuesday that if they did not support his agenda, he should resign.
“The foolish and careless political leaders made the headline of the wrong compass and we lost our way. We became the ‘Voke Department’,” Hegsit said he started the program in Quantico, Virginia. “But no longer,” he said.
Addressing a room filled with top US generals and admirals last week, which was sought from around the world last week without explanation, Hegsit defended the firing of his flag officers, in which the top American general, who was a black, and the Navy’s top Admiral, was a woman. He said that the officers whom they finished were part of a broken culture.
He promised how complaints of discrimination are handled and allegations of wrongdoing in the Pentagon are investigated as to how the current system has a way to run on the brass on “eggs of eggs”.
“If I am saying today’s words, your hearts are sinking, then you should do a honorable job and resign.”
“I know the overwhelming majority of you feel the opposite. These words fill your hearts.”
Hegsit criticized the shape of overweight soldiers, saying: “It is unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon.”
He said that all fitness tests will be set on masculine standards only and has emphasized the importance of grooming standards.
“The era of non -professional appearance is over. There is no more beard,” Hegsit told the audience, who was sitting quietly.
Trump says to commanders: I have your backing
President Donald Trump, when he left for the program, told reporters on Tuesday that if he did not like them, he would fire military leaders on the spot.
Then Trump said openly with a joke: “If you don’t like what I’m saying, you can leave the room, of course, your status goes, your future goes there.”
But after that he spoke warmly about the military, sometimes praising the capabilities of US nuclear submarines, praising the US military space force and praising the recent success in US military recruitment, sometimes in a rotating comment.
Trump said, “I’m with you. I support you, and as president, I am 100 % in your back.”
The auditorium was full of senior uniforms, sitting in front of a large American flag, a lecture and board with a stage that wrote: “Power. Service. America.”
Defense of defense preferences?
The Pentagon has changed eight months of peaches since Trump took office, including firing, banning books by the Academy’s libraries and ordering deadly attacks on drugs away from Venezuela.
Earlier this month, Trump signed an executive order to rename the Defense Department’s name “Department of War”, when he turned to the title after World War II when officials tried to emphasize the Pentagon’s role in preventing the dispute.
The military leader who attended the gathering will be in public scrutiny for any reaction to the political comments made by Trump, which often drag the military into political affairs.
The purpose of the US military is unreasonable, loyal to the US Constitution and free from any party or political movement.
The administration has announced a plan to send the National Guard to Chicago, a sophisticated US city, where Trump aims to deploy US troops despite local authorities’ objections.
Trump announced plans to send National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, despite protests by local officials, and sent the guard and active duty Marines to Los Angeles earlier this year.
Talking to Reuters on Sunday, Trump described the Quantico meeting as “Espert De Corps”.
In an interview, Trump said, “I want to tell the generals that we love them, they are leaders, be strong, be tough and be careful and sympathetic.”
