Quetta/Rawalpindi: A suicide bombing near the Headquarters of the Frontier Corps (FC) in Quetta has left 11 dead on Tuesday.
Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Mohammad Kakar said the blast included two Frontier Corps personnel among those killed and more than 20 injured.
After the blast, firing was fired, which gave rise to chaos and fear throughout the area.
Security sources said the blast was a suicide bombing that was carried out by Indian patronizing terrorists using an explosive -laden vehicle dressed by FC personnel.
He said a terrorist shifted the vehicle to the FC headquarters, while five other terrorists tried to storm the building premises.
However, sources said that a speeding operation by security forces resulted in the death of all six terrorists, including a suicide bomber. He added that clearance operation was also underway.
Talking to reporters at the center of trauma, the minister said that 26 injured were undergoing treatment at the civil hospital and the Truma Center, the condition of the five was considered important.
He condemned the incident and called it another cowardly act of terrorism. He added that security forces showed bravery during the attack and killed six terrorists in the encounter.
The Minister added that such attacks would not stop the nation or its forces in the fight against terrorism.
Initial reports of police reported that three people were killed with more than a dozen injured. However, after confirming the number of casualties after the medical superintendent of Dr. Abdul Dadi, the medical superintendent of the Civil Hospital, was recovered in five and more than 20 injuries.
All the casualties are civilian, the official said. He added that the injured were being provided medical help.
In response to the emergency, a health spokesman confirmed that emergency protocols were imposed at Civil Hospital, Bolan Medical College (BMC), and Truma Center. The spokesman added that all advisers, doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses and paramedical staff have been summoned to hospitals.
Condemning the suicide attack, President Asif Ali Zardari said that the terrorists were performing India’s agenda. He also praised the security forces for his timely and effective action.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also praised the forces for eliminating the terrorists involved in the attack and prayed for the immediate recovery of the injured security personnel in the incident.
The Prime Minister confirmed his commitment to eliminate terrorism from the country, pledging to ensure an ideal punishment for the elements trying to harm Pakistan’s integrity.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the incident. He praised the security forces’ rapid and effective reaction, saying: “All terrorists were eliminated in timely operation”.
He further emphasized that such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot diminish the spirit of the Pakistani nation. “The sacrifices of our people and security personnel will not be disrupted,” he added. “We are determined to make Balochistan a peaceful and safe province”.
The Chief Minister also expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and prayed for an increase in their ranks, and sought speeding for those injured in the attack.
