New Jersey/New York: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s economy is shown signs of micro -level stability with inflation and low interest rates, and Pakistanis have been praised for their contribution.
He spoke to the media on Saturday after making a historic speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.
“Just a few years ago, the country faced serious challenges,” he said. When we took power, inflation was 32 %, and the policy rate was 22.5 %.
“In just a year and a half, inflation has fallen into the same digits, and the policy rate has dropped 11 percent. At the micro level, the economy is now stable.”
He described Pakistanis abroad as the “great ambassador” of the country, and said that he sent a $ 38.5 billion home in FY 2024-25 alone.
“His support has been very important for Pakistan’s economic stability,” he said.
Talking about his international visits, the Prime Minister described his reception in Saudi Arabia as “unprecedented in the last 40 years” and called his meeting with US President Donald Trump “very encouraging”.
According to a question, the Prime Minister said that the United States is ready to invest in Pakistan’s trade, IT and other sectors.
The Prime Minister added, “During a meeting with President Trump, we discussed economy, counter -terrorism, minerals, artificial intelligence, IT and cryptocurrency.”
“I also thanked the US President for tariff issues, while mineral prices and trade agreements between Pakistan and the United States will be decided in fair and mutual interest.”
Shahbaz also considered Pakistan’s military achievements.
“From May 6 to 10, our armed forces bravely defeated India in the war,” he said. We shot seven enemy aircraft and strike in Delhi, Pathanot and many other places. “
He gave his leadership to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
“Field Marshal wisely guided our forces. On the morning of May 10, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to him, and we received a message from India saying that he wanted a ceasefire. We had already won the war. We accepted the war to avoid further increase.”
Recalling the change in India’s Ravi AtiTude, he added, “Those who never once spoke to you properly are embracing you, which has shown the power and courage of our armed forces and the victory we achieve.”
The Prime Minister discussed IWT, flooded with UN Guterres
Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz met with UN Secretary -General Intein Guterres in New York. He told the UN Chief that the World Organization needs to take steps to tackle global issues and play a strong role.
The Prime Minister praised Guterres for his work to promote peace and stability around the world. He also thanked the UN for recognizing efforts to get rid of Pakistan’s floods. “Thousands of people are affected, and the identity of the United Nations is really important,” he said.
Shahbaz emphasized that the countries have been targeted at the toughest level through climate change.
He also raised the Kashmir issue, which noted the decision to keep the 65 -year -old Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) of India unconscious, and appealed to the UN to ensure fair action.
Turning to Gaza, the Prime Minister immediately demanded a ceasefire. He said that aid should reach people fast, and a Palestinian state should be established. He added, “Pakistan will continue to work for peace.” As a member of the Security Council, we have to play our role. “
Guterres responded by praising Pakistan’s permanent efforts in the United Nations. He noted that the country has played a practical role in helping to maintain dialogue and stability on global issues.
The Prime Minister tells Yinga that Pakistan means peace
In his historic address, Shahbaz told the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that Pakistan tried peace in the region after delivering India a “bloody nose” in the May dispute.
The Prime Minister said in the August forum in New York, “We have won the war, and now we try to win peace in our part of the world, and this is my most sincere and serious offer in front of this assembly of global countries.”
Indians and India have been engaged in their worst-day fighting in decades after the illegal attack on Islamabad in New Delhi after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India blamed Pakistan for the attack, Islamabad strongly denied the allegation.
“Last year, from the same podium, I had warned that Pakistan would act against any external aggression – and very decisively. My words came true. I hoped that they would not do so. But then, this is destiny,” the Prime Minister stressed.
In May this year, he reminded, “My country faced indiscriminate aggression from our eastern front. The enemy was drowned in arrogance. We provided them with a bloody nose and sent them back to humiliation.”
“India tried to remove political benefits from the human tragedy by eliminating my sincere offer of an independent international investigation into the Pahalgam incident,” he said.
